But then you would climb the stairs and be stuck facing a wall with nowhere to go (unless you start knocking down walls and putting doors in, but then you have to go through either the bathroom or bedroom 1 to get to bedroom 2). I'd stick with it as it is or not buy.Mahsroh said:
Exactly! Even more so with this example, as the Staircase would then be straight off the hallway on the ground floor, so makes sense on both floors.ProDave said:
That REALLY needed the staircase reversing. So clumsy the way the stairs are now.Mahsroh said:

As it is now, yes. The point was if you reversed the stairs BEFORE messing around with the first floor layout it would've been far simpler (though granted I didn't explain it properly). All you'd have to have done "extra" then is move the door to bedroom 1. The rest of the layout on the first floor has been changed anyway so would've just been a case of re-configuring it to suit the new staircase alignment.moneysavinghero said:

I agree now though, with the layout as it is, that ship has sailed.2 -

The stairs, how many people have gone flying there? And the black floor tiles, they really like those don't they, do they never wear a skirt?Tiglet2 said:Another instance of money doesn't buy taste:

Our first house had the stairs the other way round (and was semi-detached not terraced). Gave us the chance to split the middle upstairs room in two- a bedroom and a nursery/office over the stairwell, and the rear room kept as an overlarge laundry/bathroom.Mahsroh said:

But we had another idea we didn't fully explore. Split the middle room. Have an L-shaped bathroom with the bath over the stairs, plus a bedroom.
Turn the oversized bathroom at the back into a third bedroom. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker2 -
We have varnished wood stairs, and yesterday I managed to drop the vacuum cleaner down them. It made a hell of a noise clattering down step by step, but somehow it survived. I’m definitely a pro-Vaxer.goldfinches said:

I've seen a few on Rightmove with a similar layout. Definitely the best option for those type of houses I think, although it usually means a very small third bedroom (where the middle room has been split with the bathroom), but probably works better than most other scenarios.zagubov said:

Bits of that house are done quite well. I love the living room. But then the kitchen units don't fit in with what they have tried to achieve in that room and the Coca Cola room is just plain bizarre.TheProfessional said:3
