I live in a house with a wall but no handrail on it on one side of a fairly wide staircase the the other side has had the handrail removed so that it would be possible to fall if determined to do so.
I do know that this would have to be "corrected" if it were to be let rather than simply sold on,0 -

Not sure how practical it is in actual use but what I do think is quite clever is the hanging netting/mesh behind the sofa. Gives some privacy if the front door is open from peering doorsteppers but without the cost and permanence of an actual wall or solid partition.3
