Really surprised that it hasnt been snapped up and built upon as there seems to be loads of land. 

If is in Ashington - A place where you can buy plenty of houses for £50K or less.  The area has no redeeming features, and to claim that this house is centrally located begs the question "Where ?"

£440K for a building plot, is just way too much.

It's between a Lidl and the Job Centre down a beaten track. You're right it's not worth that for a building plot hence why it remains unsold.

An ideal location for a chip shop, cheap off-licence, or vape shop then. Every site has potential.

Why will the neighbours cheer when they go?

Because of the motorhome? Then I agree, if you have one (or a caravan) then you should pay for proper storage. Hate seeing them parked on people's driveways, always an eyesore.

I have one parked in my driveway at present. However, it's not blocking anyone's light, even mine, nor is it visible to a neighbour. It's not mine and it's only a temporary thing, but if I lived in the sort of situation shown, it wouldn't even be there for a week.
