Because they can. I use one of the bedrooms in my house as a walk in wardrobe but before I sell I will dismantle the rails and pack away the clothes so it looks like a bedroom again.

I wasn't just referring to the shoes. Every room is just full of random stuff. Baseball caps in the bedroom for example. Why? 

The random blue items in the living room. Kitchen worksurfaces cluttered with random crap. It just makes the house look like it lacks storage space.

I never got past the shoes!

Probably best not to ask, but they might simply be touching base and seeing if they can hit a home run without playing too much hardball.

Also that cot looks very similar to mine 39 years ago. Lets hope no child is using it,
Another awful idea of shower in bedroom - a screen doesn't count.
