I remember viewing a house that had a swimming pool in the basement, and it smelled really bad. I didn’t enquire what was used in the pool, I admit. Are there systems that don’t smell so bad?Murphybear said:
Chlorine is rarely used these daysGDB2222 said:One of the problems with internal swimming pools is that they stink the house out with chlorine fumes.Chlorine is still the standard for disinfecting swimming pools, I don't know where Murphybear is getting info from.Chlorine doesn't smell when first added, it's when it meet contaminants that it starts to release. Smelly pools are smelly because they're dirty - filling them up takes a long time, costs a lot, and then reheating it costs some more.2 -
This one is described as the ultimate blank canvas. It needs a little work to finish it off.

We walk past it on the way to the shops, so we were wondering what was happening behind the hoarding for all this time.Patr100 said:

Looking at comps in the area, completed, that house done to its finest is worth upwards of £3m. Gives you a fair budget. If you know the area, there are a lot of local people with large amounts of liquid cash. My Mum worked for a builder for 25 years in this part of London who used to work on projects like this.Patr100 said:

I can see how that property would be desirable in Hampstead, but only on-street parking for a property potentially worth almost £3m in tip-top condition?0 -
A little surprising how there are a few expensive but older houses specially in central London that seem to have everything except for off street parking. even bus stops and the like not far - doesn't seem to deter unless they are often absent foreign buyers and it's mostly about the investment.Tiglet2 said:GDB2222 said:This one is described as the ultimate blank canvas.
