  • Thanks Mark, that's my main focus at the moment to have no coffee and packed lunches only. I've seen people do challenges and keep track of the days. Think this might be the way forward for me.

  • Urgh not had a good day today. Totally put my back out at work and got home and just didn't feel like doing anything. My housemate was late home from work and I didn't take much persuading when she suggested a takeaway. £11.75 down the drain. Only good thing is I ordered it through a delivery app, I did TCB for 1% and then my bank offering 10% cashback on orders. Didn't tell my housemate that and she's paid me her half. First takeaway of 2020. I'm going to enjoy it I won't lie but I need more easy meals in cupboards or freezer for days like today.

To be honest it sounds like you both had pizza for the take away :P
i hope your back recovers I some times have problems myself.

Taking that assumption of pizza, probably not the healthiest idea for the freezer items but it does make you think of how many frozen pizzas you could of got with what the take away pizza costs. I mean even if it was a premium frozen/fresh pizza/s bought in store.

maybe buying premium frozen foods as treats may help you cut back with it also being a reward! This of course comes down too the individual and perspective as well as out side pressures.

anyways thought I would throw a curve ball.
  • Takeaway update, hour and half later the food turns up luke warm, so i complained and they refunded us £20 towards the food so that's £10 each. I wonder if I will lose my cashback on my card? It will take 3 to 7 days to process refund 🤔 guess have to wait and see.

It wasn't pizza but wish it was now. I do like the idea of having pizzas in freezer ready to cook. Even if I splash out and have deli ones I would still probably get 4 for that price and enjoy them a lot more! It has made me think a lot more about what food to buy. I need to sort my freezer a bit more and then do a shop in the freezer warehouse shop lol

I have so many pots now that I've had to start my own spreadsheet to keep track of them. But the good thing is I now know what needs to come from what pot. Even if it means I have three current accounts and 3 savers 🙈 it's complicated but it seems like it's going to work for now. Plus it's handy for when payments are pending as i know what the true balance is.
Sounds like we're twins! 3 current accounts and at least 5 savings accounts, but many of the pots are combined in the savings accounts as I have a feeling there are at least 10 pots. Car insurance, car rescue, car servicing etc, holidays, Christmas and birthdays, emergency fund, heating oil, house insurance, petrol, housekeeping, dental. So that OH actually learns some responsibility he also has a Christmas and a holiday account. I think I'm a bit extreme.

This is so be. I have a list of what pot is for what accounts and how much in that account is for each part of the pot. So confusing if you look at it but I know what it means! I now have one for what I can my one off expenses. So amazon prime, season ticket for football, trips to Germany to see family. This is seperate as view it as more entertainment expenses.

Yes but it's all emergencies I have had this year it's probably a good thing. I don't want to end up with more debt on a credit card so taking it one step at a time but I'm doing it.
