So had the guy out today to look at sofa and he fixed it for me and dotted out the leg that had bent out of shape as well. Can't use that section of sofa until tomorrow but at least it's fixed. So have contacted dfs to see if I can cancel my new sofa order and just stick with this one for next 6 months and try save up for a new one along side paying off the debt. It will also help cancel out some of the new debt anyway. Just waiting to hear back as had to go up to management for a decision apparently. It's only been a few weeks so hoping it's still possible as think be difficult trying to sell the current sofa with the repairs. Also whilst my housemate is living here with the rabbit who likes to wee on the sofa probably not good idea to get a new one really. Keep your fingers crossed for me please.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200

Great news! No wonder your house mate isn’t keen to leave, will be tough finding a place that allows rabbits to pee on the sofaSarahwithlove said:Happy days just had a call back to say they can cancel my order. Assume credit is to a credit card where you paid the bill? They will send you the money back if you call them. I’ve had this in the past.August 2019: £28.8k

that’s brilliant about the sofa, did you have to pay any extra for the repairs? X1

Haha we have cleaning stuff for the sofa so it's not stained or anything and I have a sofa plan on it which means can get them to come out twice over the 5 years and clean it due to pets but holding off for now as she doesn't do it often but just in case.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200

They haven't said anything but will wait and see what comes back. I'm expecting a yes but as he went ahead and did the repairs I'm wondering if that means they are gonna say its a manufacturing fault? If that's the case then it would be my loan company that pays it and I get refunded the cost of the inspection. I hadn't even realised he intended to fix it until he just started doing it 🙈 it was supposed to just be an inspection but he was like saves me coming back. Either way it will be cheaper than buying a new sofa.Parkyp said:that’s brilliant about the sofa, did you have to pay any extra for the repairs? X*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200

Great news about getting the sofa repaired and being able to cancel the sofa. CC companies aren't keen on cards being in credit so it's definitely worth a call to get the money back, or if you'd rather you could just use the credit to pay for your shopping for the next however long it lasts which is what I've done in the past, means the shopping money stays in my current account earning a little bit of interest.2

That's what I am thinking will wait and see how much I'm in credit at end and go from there with it.joedenise said:Great news about getting the sofa repaired and being able to cancel the sofa. So sofa is starting to sink again where he did the repair clearly its just a short term fix. Still waiting for them to come back with inspection report so that i can know whether they are gonna say manufacture fault or wear and tear. Once got that back will decide what to do next. Part of me is wishing I hadn't cancelled the sofa but at same time I know there's no point paying out loads on a nice sofa with animals about. Could just be i end up spending a couple hundred on one instead. Have to wait and see.
How did we all get on with black friday? Have to say I did indulge slightly. I've been looking at Cemap courses for a while now but unsure due to costs but got 20% off sale price and cash back so will cost me less than £50 in total for online resources for course and 2 mock exams for each of the 3 modules. I decided it was worth going for it otherwise I'm never gonna consider changing careers.
A little left over in the funds have decided to just carry them over for this month as December is Xmas month. Also backpay month so should be able to pay about 450-500 off the debt in total this month. Jan will probably be standard but then Feb and March are no council tax months. So budget for next couple months is looking good.
I have a cold so feeling a bit sorry for myself atm and need to stop myself spending. I have deleted the amazon app from my phone. 🙈*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200

On line shopping can be a nightmare! Although if Cemap courses gets you where you want to be then its an investment.
