  • So had the guy out today to look at sofa and he fixed it for me and dotted out the leg that had bent out of shape as well. Can't use that section of sofa until tomorrow but at least it's fixed. So have contacted dfs to see if I can cancel my new sofa order and just stick with this one for next 6 months and try save up for a new one along side paying off the debt. It will also help cancel out some of the new debt anyway. Just waiting to hear back as had to go up to management for a decision apparently. It's only been a few weeks so hoping it's still possible as think be difficult trying to sell the current sofa with the repairs. Also whilst my housemate is living here with the rabbit who likes to wee on the sofa probably not good idea to get a new one really. Keep your fingers crossed for me please.

  • Happy days just had a call back to say they can cancel my order. Refund will be back on card within 15 working days. Card will now be in credit but that's OK as can use it to pay for stuff instead.

Great news! No wonder your house mate isn’t keen to leave, will be tough finding a place that allows rabbits to pee on the sofa

Assume credit is to a credit card where you paid the bill? They will send you the money back if you call them. I’ve had this in the past.

Ooo OK that's good to know. It's not a massive amount about £150 I think. I'll wait until its paid and see.

Haha we have cleaning stuff for the sofa so it's not stained or anything and I have a sofa plan on it which means can get them to come out twice over the 5 years and clean it due to pets but holding off for now as she doesn't do it often but just in case.

They haven't said anything but will wait and see what comes back. I'm expecting a yes but as he went ahead and did the repairs I'm wondering if that means they are gonna say its a manufacturing fault? If that's the case then it would be my loan company that pays it and I get refunded the cost of the inspection. I hadn't even realised he intended to fix it until he just started doing it 🙈 it was supposed to just be an inspection but he was like saves me coming back. Either way it will be cheaper than buying a new sofa.

Great news about getting the sofa repaired and being able to cancel the sofa.  CC companies aren't keen on cards being in credit so it's definitely worth a call to get the money back, or if you'd rather you could just use the credit to pay for your shopping for the next however long it lasts which is what I've done in the past, means the shopping money stays in my current account earning a little bit of interest.

That's what I am thinking will wait and see how much I'm in credit at end and go from there with it.
