Really? I can't remember ever receiving a code by text for them. I imagine you would only need that if you were changing the linked account.coachman12 said:
No, it's not new. Marcus have always used texts. Check they know your mobile phone number.roddydogs said:Is this something new, ive never used a mobile for my marcus a.c0 -
When I log onto Marcus, I enter email address and password, and then they text me code which I have to enter to complete logon. No text - no logon!1

Send text, or make a voice call, according to the letter I received from HL todayColdIron said:HL may be problem for you then as from the 13th March they will send an SMS message to enable you login. This appears to apply to anyone with a currency or Active Savings account0 -
Yes you're right, on re-reading they offer 'an automated call if you prefer'

Apparently not as they can send recorded message to a landline instead of SMS.ColdIron said:HL may be problem for you then as from the 13th March they will send an SMS message to enable you login. This appears to apply to anyone with a currency or Active Savings account

Family Building Society does loook like it supports Faster Payments but only pays interest Yearly and rate is currently 1.06%.Fingerbobs said:The Family Building Society's Online Saver is instant-access and pays 1.26%. Not quite as good as Marcus, but not terrible. It also allows deposits by debit card. Only drawback is it has a minimum operating balance of £100.

RCI Instant Access is 1.2 % but it has the advantage of being in the top three or four savings accounts since it was introduced in UK. It will be interesting to see whether it will stay in that league or whether it is merely trying to get a good foothold in the UK market, before lowering rates. So far, I have been very impressed and hope for a long association with them. Once again, I am pleased that they have won the 2020 Best Savings Account Award.0

I have held a Marcus ever since they first launched the account. I can't recall that I ever needed a mobile for anything on that account. I have just logged in without any mobile. It looks as if they have different login procedures for different people.RomfordNavy said:I went for ages without needing a mobile then one day they just started insisting on it, I have not been able to login since.
