HSBC threatening text messages

Then Hazzanet complaining at receiving texts about being close to being overdrawn when £3 in credit (and with £3 in fees due)... I think most people would argue that is very close to being overdrawn. I wonder how quickly many would complain about finding they are overdrawn and charged fees without getting a warning from the bank? “The bank didn’t even bother to send me a text!” I can hear it now...
They issued me with the terms and conditions of the overdraft when I applied for it, which outline the charging structure, costs and times at which the charges will be collected. I don't need reminding of the terms of conditions each time I use, or come close to using a service. Do they text you each time you reach for the debit card reminding you of the T's and C's and possible charges through card usage? No. So why would they need to do that here, especially when I'm unlikely to use the service.
To me, it seems exceptionally over the top - nanny state even. Also, in respect of the £3 remaining, previous account conduct suggests that the account will be topped up - previous behaviour is a good indicator of future behaviour, so if they must send the text, it could go through some machine learning to calculate the likelihood of going overdrawn and/or a charge being raised based on previous action.
My biggest beef is that, apparently I can opt out. Having exercised that choice three times now, I still get the messages. The balance will be £3 again tomorrow, so let's see if they can follow through on it this time.43580 -
Hazznett claims to be sensible with money but is getting charged £3 a month for a Club Lloyd's account.
Just pay in £1500 a month and the fee is waived....0 -

Do you have any limits set for texts? ie balance below/above X
Or it is possible that you can not opt of of texts that are about you being charged.Life in the slow lane0 -

Offset against the £125 joining bonus and cinema tickets, it's money saving to me until I use the tickets and change it to a classic account.43580 -

No texts are set on the account. Got a message again from them yesterday so rang again to see why I'm still getting them, this time raising a complaint. If that doesn't work, I'll tell them to remove the mobile number. Surely that has to work?43580 -
This is they way banks go about there business these days, I have had these messages a few times off my bank. I wouldn't necessarily say that the messages are threatening really they are giving you a heads up so you don't accumulate loads of Interest.0
