Because it would be a lot cheaper if it was advertised with 34k miles
Yes, it would be a bit cheaper. Perhaps the supplier will refund you the difference?

But that's different to "No, I wouldn't even have looked at it with 34k", assuming the price reflected the mileage. And, of course, a large part of that reflection is in attitudes like that...

It's the exact same car you've been driving around in, happily, for the last six and a half weeks since you looked it over and decided you were happy with it. The ONLY difference is some digitally-displayed numbers.

If you read the post the instrument panel is second hand, so you have to wonder what else is not genuine
If that line of thinking sets your hair on end, then you need to be buying brand new cars only.

Another one of your really helpful posts right there!

Do you high five yourself in the mirror every time you troll on here?

While you've helped the OP how?
  • Thats not the point, the dealer has already emailed me saying that I will benefit financial as he will from his supplier,
If a wanted to I could inform trading standards of this situation and he would be liable for crimanal prosecution

So what is the point exactly?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

2 years old 34k would not have touched it.
Advertised miles 17k trade descripton act, mileage quoted and on financial agreement 17k

Don't get throwing the Trades Descriptions Act at the dealer. It's long since drawn it's pension and gone to live in a nursing home for obsolete legislation.
  • And what did the service history say about the mileage?

I don't know why your so hung up up on slightly higher mileage.

17,000 miles isn't "slightly higher". It's double that which was advertised.

    It's 17k higher.

17k really isn't much. If the OP came to sell the vehicle in (say) 50k miles time, 17k would still be 17k - it wouldn't be 67k, which would be double.

2k instead of 1k is "double", too.

Most would question the service history reflecting this.

The OP doesn't say what model of Vauxhall, but Astra service interval is 20k/12mo - so it's going to have needed the same number of services at 2yr/34k as at 2yr/17k.
