Vodafone....am I over reacting ?

Options
Afternoon all

Had a row with Vodafone complaints team today.....your opinion pls

I pay my bill each month by card....not direct debit....so it appears for the January bill it got processed twice by Vodafone....a error they admit to....they took 2 payments.

I go online chat and the guy says he needs my bank details for a refund....and to setup a direct debit....3 times in the chat I’ve mentioned I’m supplying my bank details for the refund only and not to set up a direct debit...the advisor agrees this.

Got a notification from bank this morning....online bank monzo that Vodafone have set up a direct debit for bill payments.

Vodafone have treated this as a training issue and would be fed back to the advisor...

I think it’s more than a train8ng issue

Your thoughts please

Sure you are. It's notorious Vodafone. If you are a customer you have to be prepared pretty much to anything. Leave at the first opportunity if you aren't.

    ETA.
If I were with Vodafone and overpaid, I'd rather left the money there until the next bill, than dealt with their CS. Typically, they can't help and only make things worse if they try.
  • If they get something wrong....then surely they should be taken to task for it.

My sim only is in contract until September....but I’m sure the signal in my area has got worse

Don’t think I’m gonna let them off the hook..
  • As they charged you twice you could argue that was to your "disadvantage" (as mentioned in the T&Cs) and therefore have the right to leave them immediately without penalty.
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

I guess "disadvantage" in the T&C refers to any changes in the same T&C or the tariffs, not to errors that can be rectified.
  • Charged twice and set up a DD that was unwanted, depends on how far the OP wants to argue it.
