Vauxhall Free Of Charge Car Service

Options
Hi,

After I complained to the vehicle ombudsman, Vauxhall gave me free of charge car service voucher. It is valid for one year and does not give any exclusions or limit cost on it.
It is only valid for me and my Vauxhall car.

I am shortly due a major service on my car, I am wondering if let them do the service ,will it be completely free?

You have a voucher so why would they charge you?
Just make sure you mention it at booking.

Your best bet is just to call Vauxhall and ask. Everything else would just be guesswork.

Hope you get your free service! I can't see why you wouldn't

Show them the voucher when you book it in. Someone on here was moaning a while ago that they'd got 2 free services as part of the sale but were billed at the time (and had forgotten).

Phone and ask what the voucher covers. You might get charged for "extras" like a bottle of windscreen fluid if they have to top it up, and it might only be a standard service that is covered. Things like pollen filters and brake fluid changes always "need to be done" at major services, but for some reason are always "extra".
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

I'd say nothing. Book it in, get the service done then present the voucher as payment.

I bet there's a load of small print on the back of the voucher. Have you read it?

The voucher might just cover labour. Or labour + 'standard parts', But I can't see what it says....
  • Yeh,that was my plan, hand over the voucher when payment is requested.

The voucher does not stipulate a major or interim service, mine is due a major as is coming up 8 years old.

There is no limit of cost mentioned, only, Voucher Value: FOC Service.

I will phone Vauxhall themselves though to double check.
