Worst bank?

There was a thread a little while ago asking people for the best bank. What about the worst?

My worst is Nat West?

Any other views?
I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!

My view is that threads like this are a pointless waste of time (not that anyone is compelled to open or read them obviously!), but completely futile if posters don't actually put some flesh on the bones to say why they consider a bank to be poor....

My worst ever experience with a bank was with TSB around the time they were upgrading their IT systems, clearly there is a particular reason why my experience was particularly bad but I have since switched to another provide and am much happier for it!

Some flesh for why I agree that NatWest is the worst: My father-in-law wasn't the sharpest tool in the box, he was well known in his local branch for not knowing anything about finance & would ask the daftest questions of the staff. They took advantage of this by getting him to open a second current account for which they charged him £13 a month (or thereabouts). None of the "extras" were of any use to him.

When he died we went into our local branch to open an executor account. The gentleman there spent over an hour punching information into his computer while telling us how daft we were to bank with Santander & how much better off we'd be with NatWest. At the end of the hour he told us we couldn't open an executor account & that he couldn't tell us why. So we went to Santander & opened one in 10 minutes.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

The worst bank for me was the one that lost my entire savings - my piggy bank - I did notice that Mrs O was sporting a new pair of shoes though.

My worst was RBS - simply because their standard account offered nothing in return (no interest etc). I was also apparently not eligible for a contactless card - yet when I opened a TSB account they gave me one. When I switched the RBS to the Bank of Scotland, contactless card! It's not that they were bad, just not good either, kind of, meh! I don't miss them at all.

I'm not a fan of the Aldershot and Andover Bank. I opened an account with them and they claimed that in the T&Cs I agreed to let them fill my home with water, I only found this out when my dog drowned. They also took all my money and used it to buy drugs and sent me videos of them taking the drugs while saying "ha ha we've smoked all of JuicyJesus' money up our giant crack pipes ha ha we love crack". When I went in to complain they killed me. They don't exist any more so don't bother Googling them.

I don't really have 1, I'm not a fan of Barclays log in process but its not a reason I would give for them being the worst bank.

Forgot the name of the bank but they told me my bank balance was outstanding and then they had the cheek to charge me overdraft fees...

Then again, there was that other bank who when I went to open an account asked me my name - I said I'm Robin - you? and they called the police. Not going there again.
