Sorry if I've missed this but did the dealer give you any sort of warranty? I've sometimes had 3-month warranties on used cars from dealers. If not - and you've only got the 30 days - then you could say you'll go ahead with the repair if they'll give you a warranty on the car for whatever period you want. Or at the very least a warranty on the repair...

    Reject - Reject - Reject

Your dealer has played fair by offering you either rejection or repair, but for the first 30 days of the purchase it is totally your right to reject

This particular model has a history of failed gearboxes, which is underlined by this cars box failure at 65k miles - How much proof do you need that buying this model is not a sensible decision.

As your trade-in is now sitting on the dealers forecourt, untying the deal isn't difficult

    ** UPDATE **
The car was taken to a transmission specialist who had it for a couple of weeks. They diagnosed a replacement clutch was required. All done and got the car back last week.
The garage have given me a 12 month, RAC Platinum warranty that covers all mechanics and electrics. They have also agreed to purchase a second key (the car only came with one).
So far the car has been a delight to drive. Really impressed, lovely smooth ride.
Thanks for all the advice and sorry to those who told me to reject it. While I appreciate your thoughts, I am happy with how things have end-up.

That wet dual clutch auto box need oil changing every 3 years or 36,000 miles whichever comes first.  Your repair should have reset the timer with new transmission oil, but be aware of that need in the future.

I suspect the issue you had was probably not unrelated to that oil change (or lack of)?

Ford are now fitting a new 8-speed torque converter box when models get updated.

The Ford dealership that did the initial diagnosis checked that the correct oil changes had been done
