  • Still waiting for the paperwork from the DRO team....how long did it take....I know they say 2 weeks...but I feel on edge waiting for the postman everyday...also my father had offered to
gift me the £90 to pay the insolvency service- i think he just hates seeing me so upset and I’m just not sleeping great with it all going on. Am I allowed to accept the offer? Or will it be frowned upon? I am not expected to pay it back in any way he just wants it sorted for my sake. Thanks

It took about a week once it was sent to the drafting team, I got my barcode emailed to me so I didn't have to wait for the post, if you request this Stepchange will do it if you're going through them

As for the £90, there's nothing stopping you accepting it as you're using it to pay the fee, it wouldn't be frowned upon as it's cash, you then take this with the bar code and pay it there and then, it's cash so I wouldn't worry about it
  • Hi again I’m just wondering how many months bank statements do stepchange usually ask for and what other paperwork would they want
    many thanks
  • I’ve finally submitted today so now have the wait for the confirmation it’s gone through 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻. She advised today it could be 10 days....hopefully this will all be behind me in a few short days and I can start rebuilding a life for me and my kids! Thanks for everyone’s advice up until now and here’s hoping I get accepted.

I had to send 2 months bank statements, proof of income, a copy of my credit report from creditkarma, can’t remember if I needed to send a scan of my passport or something with my NI number on

give Stepchange a call, they’ll explain everything you need to do
  • So my DRO was filed yesterday, just wondering  how quickly will it take to show on the insolvency register? I’m checking it like mad...thanks in advance

I’d think a few days probably, the insolvency service do a few checks before granting it
  • Ah okay, what kind of checks? Like credit file etc...just wondering if I need to gather any further information for them? Thanks

I’m honestly not sure, likely to be checks that answers on form make sense, budget is reasonable etc. From what I’ve seen in here for most it’s a rubber stamping job. It may also be that some applications are more throughly checked to keep an eye on quality of applications from the company/charity submitting the applications

    Hello everyone,
Quick question: Monzo just emailed me regarding my overdraft which was included in DRO and Email says:
"I'm reaching out because we've been informed by the insolvency service that you have been granted a debt relief order, So we are writing off your debt. We will need to close your account for technical reasons, but you may open new one if you wish"

Also another debt was from company called Lendable and when I checked loan status it says "Written off"

I'm just wondering, are they being extra nice or is this normal? that 2 weeks after DRO granted they are already saying they are writing off the debt? not that I am complaining but i'm just wondering if that is it from this companies or they can change their mind anytime.
