Why do you feel POA will affect your insolvency ?
0 -
I’ve checked it out as I am currently POA for my dad I have control over his financial affairs, now I must say I’ve run his account faultlessly no issues there but it states you cannot be financial POA if you have DRO so rather than them stopping me running his account which could cause problems I have got my sister to apply for new POA in her name just so my dads account can continue to run smoothly.
i do feel it’s unfair to revoke the POA from me, as I’ve done nothing wrong in acting for my dad. The reason I’m in debt difficulties is because I’ve had to leave my home and job in London and move to Wales to become my dads Carer which now means for the first time in my life I’m on benefits UC so am unable to pay my debts as before0 -
Ah ok TIL(today I learned). Sounds like getting the POA setup is the bigger priority. With the covid situation the banks will be expected to use forbearence(making allowances for the situation, by giving payment holidays, repayment plans, breathing space etc) which will hopefully help

Ha ha this whole thing is a learning curve so grateful to people on here with their advice.
at the moment this is the first month of missed Credit card payments I’m getting lots of calls and messages from the companies but to be honest I’m ignoring them I don’t have the means to pay so there’s not a lot to say to them and I don’t want to give them the heads up on my plan for DRO.
My dad is my main concern he’s 83 with dementia and at present in hospital with a blocked kidney. So that stress alone is hard enough, I’m just trying to keep on top of my financial situation at the same time.

Tell them that you are in the process of taking debt advice and you've been advised a DRO is suitable. Tell each creditor once then block their number if they keep calling. When I did this many creditors put an imeadiate hold on collection activity for 30 days and renewed this during the time the IVA was being setup (it took a while)

I was wondering after the initial checks. Does the OR check anything during the momentary period. If yes, what checks will they do?0

I believe during the moratorium period, that they don't activly check up on you. However they will respond to any claims that come from creditors that the rules aren't being followed. The onus is on you to let them know if your circumstances change

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well.
I have a question, I work for NHS and my partners work has been closed until July.
I can do more shifts while my partner is with our daughter, They need extra help (as you would imagine) at my work during this crazy times and I think I'll do everything I can though I was wondering will this result my DRO being revoked as my income will be higher because of extra hours I will do. (As a result, I will most likely have more than 50£ left)
Maybe volunteering could be an option?
Thanks and please, stay home if you can and stay safe.0 -
According to the rules its possible that it could lead to your DRO being revoked. It's of course possible that these rules will not be enforced for someone in your position, although I doubt any of the rule changes have been formalized. Volunteering would be a workaround, but maybe also worth enquiring with your MP as is it doesn't sound very fair
