Ah, braces. I remember those days. Not much fun at the time, but I still love my lovely straight teeth over 20 years later!
Yes I felt/feel the same about my experience with braces too! If nothing else it is much easier to clean your teeth when they are straight.

Wow that's some DIY job by the previous owner!! :astonished:
The whole house is like the house that Jack built :expressionless: it's horrendous. Honestly, don't get me started

Always great when everything comes together like that!
Curtains sound very professionally done. I guess you'll need to redecorate now you can see the room properly? 😎
Actually most of the rest of the room is fine. We will redo one of the walls, paint the chimney breast (which is currently bare brick), and at some point replace the carpet with some hardwood flooring/a big rug, but the wallpaper that's up is nice enough so we don't really see the point in making additional work. But the wall that we're gonna redo ... hoooo boi! There's a big oval plaster moulder thing mounted on it...probably 2 foot by 2.5 foot? And it's got 3 chubby babies on it holding grapes and stuff. Proper weird. Think cherubs. Not painted or owt, just plain old white. Literally one of the first things we did was screw a screw into the top of it and hang a big canvas print over it so we didn't have to look at it  at first it was just a weird thing in our house but, y'know, it's been 5 years, and we've had a few parties, and when the beer is flowing the sharpies come out.... so now they're more colourful than they were before!! Anyway, in spite of their infamy amongst our friends, we're still not keeping them, so yeah. That wall needs redoing  in a few years we will also get a nice wood-burning stove put in but that's a later job.

    Ha! Thank you!

When we moved in the whole house was kinda like that. All the light fittings were these badly made multi-light fake-swirly chandelier things with plastic dangly gems etc (those all came down immediately because the Manwife™ is 6'4" and a walking liability so huge light fittings are a recipe for disaster). The wallpaper was all either floral or sparkly. Did you know you can get sparkly grout? I didn't, but apparently you can. The worktops in the kitchen are sparkly too. Thankfully the bathroom has been spared from the sparkles but it does have a massive pink flower mural on one wall that is about 6 tiles wide. In fact the whole shower is pink. Which would be fine, except the rest of the bathroom is natural stone/roman column style/brass fittings so the pink is just? Why? Oh, and our bedroom has a big fitted wardrobe down one wall. Floor to ceiling, 4 huge sliding doors. ALL FOUR OF THEM ARE MIRRORED. It's an ENTIRE WALL of mirrors. Why? WHY? There's also a shower cubicle in the corner of the room because of reasons.

If we manage to get it off the wall intact it's coming to a friend's wedding as an honoured guest 😂😂 if not I guess we'll have a ritual burning or something.

One of them has a tattoo now that says 'made in Bethlehem' and another has a 5 o'clock shadow, which is bloody weird/hilarious on a chubby baby 🤣

  • I'm surprised you've not guessed the reason behind the mirrors in the bedroom...... I'll give you a clue........bedroom antics! Made me chuckle about your cherubs.
