I just thought that I should let you all know that my daughter has filed the defence. She filed it following the instructions from Keith P above. It is 6 pages long, she dated and signed all pages and put the claim number at the top.

We were thinking of counter claiming but,
she attended the hospital yesterday as a day patient, she receives intravenous treatment for her illness/disability and it wipes her out for days!. She is so stressed and worried about this Excel claim that she couldn't cope and thought it best file as the last day for filing is this coming Monday 3rd February 2020.

We just wanted to say a really big thank you to everyone for all your help, it really means a lot, that you all gave your time to help us. Will keep you informed of what develops.

Erm, how was it filed? Surely it was a PDF so no sig on each page?

6 pages seems very long as well.

On balkance, no need to worry about counter claim. Hopefully onc eyou win, a CLAIM at that point will be easy. Youd send them a Letter before action for say a few hundred - theyd be fools to not settle.

Oh dear sorry............ I should explain that we did it like that because we had to print it out 1st ........ and then..... sign and date it.......and then re-scan it back onto the computer....in order to email it....... it printed out as 6 separate pages........so we thought it was the best thing to do........ as we are not very computer........ or court literate......its all a bit scary when you don't really know what you are doing......

OK that's fine so far, so she has jumped the first hurdle. :)

There are now other stages and we don't have time to reply about DQ stage (N180 form) so please read about that simple stage in the NEWBIES thread links under the red heading about 'what happens when'.

See you at witness statement and evidence stage, in good time and well before the hearing at your local court.

Defence is not the only statement to make, hope you are aware? You need to read the links under the red heading and be ready.

NEWBIES thread -> 2nd post gives you ifno on witness statements
The reason we tod you to go look back in jan was because we knew this stage was coming, and we didnt want you to be unprepared. You are being too passive.
