Plus net end of contract policy

Hi all,
Trying to get through tho plusnet but the wait times always seem to be ridiculously long.
My contract ends on 9th March and I am wishing to switch provider mainly due to cost and plusnet even on a ‘deal’ are more expensive than switching. Do I have to give plusnet notice? Given that I still have 2 months to go with them, can I only initiate the switch past the 9th March?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks!

you can switch free of charge within 14 days of your contract end, so you can switch on or around the 25th of feb, if you cancel before this date however you may get charged a termination fee, depending on how mnay months or days you leave
you don't need to ring or tell plusnet your leaving tho, just switch to another broadband provider if you so wish, just beaware if you switch now you will get charged a termination fee, best to ask plusnet exactly how much this will be before you make the switch if you plan on moving now0 -

14 days before end of contract yup, you wont need to ring to let them know, unless you wish to cancel altogether and have no broadband
if your switching to another provider just switch as normal they will in turn take over your line on the confirmed live date, and your plusnet line will get cancelled on the date your new line goes live
you will get a final bill from plusnet shortly after, which will either be a refund or whatever is still owed for the days you used until your switch is completed0 -

...plusnet even on a ‘deal’ are more expensive than switching.
Speak to the customer retentions team. They will usually match other providers prices if you speak politely to them. I was with them for seven years and often managed to get a cheaper deal than the year before and retain my free evening and weekend calls package.0 -
Ah i see, just thought until the switch is complete i would still be in contract, and 14 day switch would take me past 21st feb.
When I was leaving the new supplier had contacted Plusnet before I got round to it, some robot I assume.
As I was out of contract no financial harm was doneGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0
