Buyer wants to come from Spain to buy my car. Should I be concerned?

Can I get an agent to handle the sale for me? It turns out he can only visit when I'm not around.
Very convenient that the buyer can only collect when your not there.....I bet he will suggest a suitable agent 100% guarantee safe and secure backed by Paypal blah blah.
Look for another buyer.....0 -
No he's not suggesting the agent. My garage is willing to do it, although I'm not sure how comfortable I am with them having to sit on all that cash for some time. I guess a friend would be better.0

Was it you who suggested the dates and your buyer could not make them, or did your buyer suggest the original dates. I'm just so convinced it's a scam.0

Keep it simple. Deal with this person yourself and in person. The more intermediaries you introduce or allow to be introduced increases the likelihood of something going wrong and/or sorting things out if there are complications.
It's a cheap car. If he wants it that badly he'll arrive with cash. Anything else, just find someone else to sell it to. You're making it far more complicated than it needs to be.1 -

He suggested the date and I couldn't make it. He says he has the same model of car, needs spare parts, and they are really hard to get hold of in Spain.0 -

Short of forged notes, what possible scam angle are you seeing?
Why does the buyer living in Madrid make it more likely than Manchester?0 -
I sold an MX5 limited edition to an ex pat who came over on holiday specifically to buy an MX5. Bank transfer absolutely no issues but if he'd been Spanish I might have been a bit wary.0
