So the best best is now £10 for 1300SB, by Mastercard, Amazon voucher or Tesco voucher.

This is possibly my biggest annoyance with survey sites and the reason I rarely do surveys that are more than a few minutes unless they're fairly high value. Apart from the few better quality sites it's almost guaranteed to take longer than specified.  :#

I generally stick to Populus Live £1 per 5 mins - SB would need to be at least 20 SB per min to get near that - and that's ignoring the failure to pays or the time/effort involved chasing them up.
Absolutely. I like Populus, it's slow but the £50 is a nice reward. I spend minimal time on SB these days as I think the days of decent returns are long gone.

Had a £2 and £4 one from Populus on Wed (already had 2 earlier in the week) and get several payouts a year - now SB have raised the price of the £5 Mastercard the minimum payment would need to be about 26 SB a minute. Also had the rarity (for me ) of a Pinecone survey this week, along with consumer pulse and Populus they are the only ones I really bother with these days.

(just went to look at the gift card prices and discovered I had a 100 SB swag-up that expires on the 1st, must be from a team challenge i had completely forgotten about)

That's a pretty good week.  I get one or two a week from Populus and don't always qualify but I get two sometimes three payouts a year. As much as anything I appreciate the absence of dirty screenouts and lies about the number of minutes.  Pinecone is a rarity for me too, but again it's straightforward and honest. My favourite is still Prolific,  I feel like they look after both the researchers and participants.

It's a shame that the £5 gift card has gone up because I'm not sure SB has ever paid 26 a minute.  :p Even accounting for the extras that can be picked up from search wins, challenges and Swago boards

    Never tried Prolific.
SB paid so much more in the old days -  The were once significant almost completely passive earnings 140 SB upwards a day for the mobile video apps which could often just be left to run, I think videos on the swagbutton originally paid 3 SB per 10 clips,  the desktop videos where each set could be left to run and search wins of 100 SB a time  -  all that made getting the first daily goal and getting the monthly one easy  - maybe worth 600 SB a month without any extra from getting the second goal.

I really like Prolific as it tends to be university research rather than product opinions and it's really reliable.  It's a bit of a pain to set up the account but once that's done it's great.  I also use Intellizoom that pays out $5 or $8 for each survey and they're fairly regular. You can get screened out but it's generally very early on so I don't mind. I also think they're quite interesting, they're the surveys that are userzoom on SB but pay a lot more when you do them directly.  I don't even attempt SB surveys anymore as it was too easy to spend 30 minutes just getting repeatedly screened out.  I definitely don't miss the frustration!

And they never even specified whether they meant the publisher or the cancer charity!

Perhaps they thought people would realise, being as the first question asked if you donated to charity?

Odd!  The first (and only) question I was asked was whether I had heard anything about Macmillan lately.
