I'm not expecting to question their ethics and code of conduct, but I'll wait and see what happens first.
Maybe Martin can make a comment here on what he thinks about ethical standards and their importance in businesses?
Think you'll find Martin no longer owns or runs this forum and doesn't frequent the boards0

What about your personal "ethics"? You willingly entered into a contract and now wish to unilaterally breach it.0

I'd add that I'm willing to compromise on the refund as I have inconvenienced them, but I think you'd agree if you were in my position, I have not inconvenienced them to the amount of £1,000.0

At the sister branch, the technician mentioned tiger marking, which put me off for that treatment, so I wouldn't have continued if they said I could at my own risk. That was for IPL. They recommended another treatment, with the Pico laser, but didn't have the machine, so referred me to the other branch.
At the branch I had the Pico test, the technician did not mention about skin indentation as a side affect of the treatment, but did mention skin darkening and potential scabbing. I guess the combination of the skin indentation and skin darkening is the tiger marking the other technician meant. Now reflecting, it was a bit odd that they were talking about pigmentation, when skin redness is caused by dilated capillaries that are near to the surface of the skin.
As it was a treatment on the face I was looking for, it didn't seem odd that they would test on my face.
I think the staff are probably not experienced at dealing with complications or they don't mention it. The website doesn't mention the risks, either, which gives the impression it's risk-free.
Hopefully, this thread will help consumers make a more informed decision and learn from my errors.
 Which website was it.
How experienced at using a laser was your practitioner. Ie how many years?0

That's why they gave you a consultation and a patch test before you made the decision to enter into a contract with them.
Sure that is obvious with hindsight, but wasn't at the time. They could have been kind and suggested I think it over before I pay, but I guess I'm a bad judge of character.0
