Am I correct to say that you will need to have a fee paying account of either Reward Silver or Reward Platinum in return for perks. Start from 1st february in addition to this perks people with these accounts might get £5 cashback by DD and using Mobile banking ??

As I read it, this is a change to the all the types of accounts, so the standard account gets the £5 for DD and log in for a £2 fee, replacing the existing bills casback, and Silver/Platinum (what happened to Gold ) get this change, plus the other paid for perks.

If quirkydeptless interpretation is correct (e.g £5 cashback also applies to no fee paying account), than it is worthy. Getting 2 DDs and access mobile banking once a month is dead easy. At least it is much better than chasing £1.50 cashback for using Debit Card 30x from Coop, lol.

I understand this will apply only to existing customer, so you will already need to have the legacy Natwest account running before February 1, 2020 ?

Has anyone else already confirmed with with Natwest.

Many current accounts could be opened online in less than a week. So you could apply now and hopefully all of AC and DD are already running by the end of January.

But before doing that make sure that £5 cashback will also apply to Standard Rewards account (e.g not only Silver or Platinum Reward). Someone else might already get confirmation from Natwest ??

I don't see why it wouldn't apply to new customers after 1st Feb, it just seems to be a change to how they are paying a reward.

    According to their website:

    https://personal.natwest.com/personal/myrewards/myreward-changes.html#FAQS
How will I earn Rewards with my Direct Debits?
To earn Rewards with your Direct Debits you will need to hold a Reward, Reward Silver, Reward Platinum, Premier Reward or Reward Black account.

Looks like the standard “Select” account is the only one that is excluded.
