At some point waamo, they must have known that if they venture forward, their actions would likely damage parts, so why didn't they tell me?
Or did they not have the knowledge, or worse, did they care and think they could just put technical words my way and I would assume they know better than me.

You have been asked many times for details of the car, what was wrong that caused it to go for DIAGNOSTICS.

These are the FACT people want....:T

You can not seriously expect the mechanic to start work, stop work, ring you to continue, start work, stop work, ring you to advise.... Rinse and repeat as they take each part off.

If you really wanted to know what was wrong before they started. Then you should have asked
"WHAT DO YOU THINK IS WRONG" not give then authority to find out what was wrong....
Two totally different options.

A. Not necessarily. There's no way to tell where the problem is before they have looked at it.
B. It rather depends on what you actually asked them to do.

You're asking about your consumer rights, as per the title of the thread. These rights are dependent on lots of things. My questions are relevant.

I repeat, you'll get nothing useful from this forum, or any judge, without establishing facts.
