I fear some of you are clueless to the deal here.
Would it have been a reasonable act on the garage behalf, that when they knew they would have to remove a part(s) that would further damage the semi-roadworthy aspect of my property, that they should stop and ask the customer to continue, as it might well be in the customers best interests, both financially, and time consuming.
Or, should they do as initially instructed regardless of the benefits to the customer.
Apologies in advance if this is too laymen a question/scenario for you.0 -
Why won't this thread die?
If you think you have a case then crack on with your legal action. Let us know court details, I'm sure we could all do with a laugh.0 -

A more cynical person than I might question your motives in avoiding the question.0 -
Here in NI, they introduced an emmisions test for diesels, or PSVs, or both, I can't remember. This involved simply revving the engine, in neutral. Lots of taxis broke, and the drivers tried to blame the test centre for ruining their engine. Of course, the engine was no good.
OP, you'll get nowhere with this forum, or a judge, without some FACTS.
Some questions for you:
What is the car?
What was it worth before you took it? Without your fault and with it? And then what is it worth after the diagnosis?
What have they broken? You really do need to find this out.
For example - if your exhaust is hanging off and you ask them what is wrong with it - they jack the car up, TOUCH the exhaust, and it falls off in a pile of rust.
Did they break your car? Was what happened reasonable? Do you expect a refund?0 -

Aaaarrrrgggg lol

I'm talking about BEFORE the parts were removed...
Should they have the brains to know what removing the parts would mean to the customer and therefore offer the choice to proceed?

Your questions are irrelevant to me, I'm looking for answers to mine, that's why I'm here...

Did you? Was your answer, yes, no, don't know, not sure, or maybe? That's all I require.

Patronising people is hardly going to get you the response you are looking for. Why is it you are so coy about the car type and name and the parts? What do you have to hide?0 -

Sometimes things break no matter how much care you take. Sometimes this cannot be predicted. With some components it's rare but not impossible for this to happen. It might have been such a component that proper care and skill was used but it could not be predicted.
Without knowing the components removed that's all anyone can tell you.0
