BoS requires you to have a BoS current account in order to qualify for the RS. Halifax doesn't, presumably because it is a fixed term account:cool:
But so is the BoS, Shirley?

Er no. The BoS Monthly Saver is instant access.

    And don't call me............

I really can't be arsked to send this bumf off if it's not necessary..I already have an account with them so WHAT features of the account will I missing out on exactly ???

If you already have an account and they allowed you to set up a new one, then the only likely need for ID is so you'll be able to withdraw money. Which is an entirely optional feature, so don't feel obliged. ;)

Best thing is to call then and find out - might be some crossed wires which need uncrossing.

Well, I guess we will find out when the other one matures how easily money can be withdrawn..If they are allowing me to pay in by standing order from my current account, I cannot see why they need anything else to allow me to withdraw when it matures.

  • Anyone had any success closing a Leeds issue to take advantage of a better one.

I've made one payment only into Leeds Issue 7 fixed 2.25% and now want to take advantage of their issue 9 at 2.55%
If you want to be rich, never, ever have kids ;)
  • Are not the majority of these regular savers a waste of time paying under 3 %... if you are not maxed out with Santander ?

Leeds confirmed to me today that RS Issue 5 can be closed and a new Issue 9 opened once that has been done. To close, you need to write to them and specify you want the money paid to you by cheque or bank transfer. Apparently there is a £20 charge for bank transfer !:(

Small point, but I think Issue 7 is 2.3% fixed, not 2.25%.

If you mean the 123 current account, then the maximum you'll get on your £20,000 is 1.5%.
