Is the amount you can pay in now £500 (like the Issue 2) or still £250?

    It's always been £500

In some slight recompense, the maximum monthly deposit will increase on March 1st from £250 to £500. (Subject, of course, to the existing £20,000 maximum balance.)

At least, with all the doom and gloom on rates at the moment, that's some consolation for me. Does anyone know for certain, if I had interest paid away from the account whether I can still have one penalty free withdrawal a year? I have read the T&Cs but I didn't think they were 100% clear. If they pay interest away, does it show in the account transactions (passbook or online)?

Many of those who hold the YBS regular saver version 1 will be close to the £20,000 upper limit so £250 or £500 per month is academic.

Good afternoon, all. I am just wondering if anyone could be so kind as to advise whether the following accounts are still running at the interest rates shown?

    - Santander 123 (1.5% on £20K): £500 pm plus 2 DDs

    - Nationwide (5% on £2500 for 12 months): £1000 pm. No DDs.

    - Tesco (3% on £3000 x 2 accounts): No pay in. No DDs.

    - BoS (3% on £5,000 x 3 accounts): £1000 pm. 2 DDs

    - TSB (3% on £1500): £500 pm. No DDs.

    - NS&I (1% on £0): No pay in. No DDs.

PS: I know that the 3% Tesco accounts are no longer open to newbies, but I already have mine. Are they still at 3%?

PPS: I am also now aware that NS&I have reduced their 1% rate. Sad!

Essentially, I want to keep up to £10K in cash in case my VLS takes a nosedive... just wondering where best to put it. I am thinking £6K in 2 Tesco accounts at 3%, £2.5K in Nationwide at 5%, and the grand or two in my Santander 123 account.

Would you like me to look up their websites for you?
Would have been quicker for you to do that rather than type out your questions!
  • jdw2000: I think your query, about Current Accounts, appears on this Regular Savings Accounts forum in error.

Anyone know how long it takes an HSBC Regular Saver to mature into a different account to withdraw? Mine shows interest credited on 18th, but still shows as a Regular Saver.
