I have all 3 6% Regular Savers. Getting the Advance account could take some time. There are various threads about it on the forum, e.g. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5050752.

Good for you Sui, go for it. Have you tried the switching accounts game yet? Free money.

Just started trying that for the extra money, hoping to get the £100 M&S gift voucher by the end of this month, and just tried a switch to Yorkshire bank (fingers crossed the money will come through), wasn't brave enough to try multiple switches.

Looks like an immediate acceptance for the advance account, but the longest phone call ever to get it set up. Just needs to sign the docs when they come through.

Sorry one quick question re funding of Advance account. Would transferring money from my FD account be seen as an internal transfer? Would I be better to use one of my current accounts outside HSBC group to fund the account?

Unless you promised them that a third party would fund your Advance account, an SO (or FPs) from your FD account should be just fine. Their systems are independent of each other. I used to fund my HSBC Bank account by SO from FD for ages.
  • Hi Folks,

    Here is this weekend's update.

    - Market Harborough BS Monthly Super Saver (Issue 3), paying 2% on up to £3,000 per month for locals only added to post 4 (with the 12 month accounts as the interest rate drops after 12 months) with a comment warning people of this institution's behaviour with dropping the interest rate on issue 2 as per the posts above

The Leek United BS Regular Savings 2.25% account is already in post 2 on the first page of this thread.

I will do another update next weekend.

    SS2

Thank you just wanted to double check as the T&C's state no internal transfers and I wasn't sure if they would count a transfer from within the Group as an internal transfer or not. That make things a lot easier.

Received letter that they are reducing from 2.5% gross p.a to 2.0% gross p.a where monthly increase in balance is £500-£1000 with effect from 1st April 2015.

Similarly where monthly balance increase is £200-£499 rate will be 1.50% gross (down from 1.85%); monthly balance increase £100-£199 rate will be 1.00% (down from 1.35%). Where increase in monthly balance increase is below £100, rate remains at 0.25%

Bloody hell, this is getting ever more ridiculous.

I am giving in, I am going to order a new car.
