Just to let you know that I applied by post for the Principality Xmas Regular. Did two, one for me and one for my wife.
I just printed the general application off their site, filled them in and sent them off with a cheque to Queen Street.
Received confirmation in the post this morning that they have opened them:j. A pretty quick turnaround as well.
I have successfully applied before by post as I live in Devon, see my post 1263.
Not a bad rate, pity they have reduced their normal maximum of £500.0 -
My cheque went off tonight.0

Its not on the website as its officially a branch only account, but as you can see some of us have opened by post. You can download an application form from their site.0 -

I have a regular Saver from years ago with The Scottish BS. Its now a closed account, and pays 4% ( I believe its now 3% for new customers) you can pay a maximum of £1000 per month and its not fixed term. I pay the full amount monthly. Just wondered if you think this is the best home for my regular savings.....0

I still have this account and would not think of closing it. So many regular saver accounts do have a fixed term and you cannot amend the payment. If you find a higher paying one, I would suggest keeping this open with the minimum payment. Not Rachmaninov

I believe we still get 4% even after one year has elapsed. So it is really a good product as you could top it up every month and you get 4% interest on the whole balance.longleggedhair wrote: »I have a regular Saver from years ago with The Scottish BS. Hi Everybody,
Here is this weekend's update to this thread.
As discussed in the posts above, I have added the Principality BS (5%) and the Yorkshire BS (3.5%) Christmas savers to post 7.
The Yorkshire BS account is a strange mix between a regular saver account and a fixed rate bond. It is like a fixed rate bond in that you can put the full £1,200 into the account now and withdraw it early for a penalty (90 days' interest). On the other hand, it is like a regular saver account in that you can open the account with £10 now and then add to it as you wish.
I have also found an identical account from Barnsley BS and Chelsea BS and added these to post 7. There is nothing that I can see in the key features to stop you from opening an account with each of the three divisions of Yorkshire BS (Barnsley, Chelsea and Yorkshire) if you wish.
I will do another update the weekend after next.
