Hm, I wonder if they will let me open by post - I managed it for the RS Issue 11.

What method did you follow when applying - did you just send in a downloaded general application form, for instance? Obviously we don't have the details of this new account up at Prin yet, and must await these but can you just write-in the account type when applying for a specific product I wonder?

I downloaded thier generic form and sent it to Queen Street.
(I phoned them up a couple of months earlier and they said no but thought I try it anyway!)

That was for an account they was listed on the website though - this one isn't yet.

The existing Regular saver account was listed as "Branch only" but I successfully applied by completing the generic application form and sending it to H.O.. BTW I do not live in Wales.

I just have alook on their website. It seems that this RSA have not been in the market ? Has soeone managed to open it ?
  • I was planning on popping over to my nearest branch on Saturday, (Shrewsbury about 30 miles away). When it says that it is branch based, I presume that it is for opening purposes and not for the monthly payments which will presumably be by S.O. ?
I don't mind a day out once in a while but it's going to be a tad uncompetitive to go every month.
This is of course assuming that it will still be an open issue on Saturday.
  • I have sent off a downloaded application today to my local(ish) branch after ringing to check that it could be opened by post. I also managed to open the Local Hero version in the same way last month.

I'm more than 100 miles away from nearest branch. What I did with the Local Hero one was rang a branch, explained that I already had a Regular Saver with Principality and had been a member for over 2 years, they checked it out and called me back the following day to say it would be ok, as she had checked with the Branch Manager, as they had been under strict instructions not to open by post - but they did.
