Viewing this 2-bed terrace - price and what to look out for

True, but that's always the case of course with any party wall.
I suppose all you can do is to play it by ear (literally! ) and weigh up the possibilities of a change in occupancy on either side but if it seems to be a 'nice' area you're probably as prepared as you ever can be. 0 ) and weigh up the possibilities of a change in occupancy on either side but if it seems to be a 'nice' area you're probably as prepared as you ever can be. 0

Looks perfectly fine for what you want. The price is on the ambitious side but that could go down with time or equally be picked up quickly by an FTB who wants a ready-to-love-in place, it's hard to say.
Great suggestion from smashedavacado re the carpet, you'll definitely want to do that!0

one other point from looking at the photos - you can see that the property probably had a fireplace in the back room at some point (houses of this type did).
If it did (which is likely), then it has been removed. The chimney breast in the upstairs bedroom is at an angle to presumably meet the former other chimney flue in the loft void before heading to the roof.
I would make sure you take a look in the loft to make sure if there was another chimney from the backroom, that it has been properly stabilized in the loft. This will give you an idea as to whether this was done - and perhaps i would want to find out when / by who it was done0

Thanks for that. Is this something that a full survey would cover? I wouldn't know how to tell if it was "properly stabilized" or not.SmashedAvacado wrote: »I would make sure you take a look in the loft to make sure if there was another chimney from the backroom, that it has been properly stabilized in the loft. a survey would cover this but its worth getting a feel for what work has been done that you cant see.
If you take a look at the chimney in the loft and it looks like an upside-down Y then this would be more of a concern (as both flues will remain intact and there might not be anything supporting one of the limbs of the "Y". It might be the case that one of the limbs from the upside down "Y" should have been removed or other strengthening as it has nothing beneath it.0

That link goes to rightmove but not the property for me. Try this: old photosdiggingdude wrote: »You can see alot of it there. I would negotiate hard on it with that price increase https://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/detailMatching.html?prop=56809761&sale=9058300&country=england
Also can you open the shower screen and reach the taps, to clean the bath etc. The sink looks in the way. I suppose you could replace it with a shower curtain.
Agree about the garden gate, is there a right of way?0

Thanks franklee for the link to the photos!
Wonder what the reason might have been for (what looks like) rotten flooring upstairs.0

Also says 'communal rear yard'. Would you be okay with that?0
