We are in the market for a 2-bed terrace in the Macclesfield town-centre area and have been renting close by for a good few months now. We were actively viewing in the autumn but things slowed down once winter started.
We have booked a viewing for this property later this week https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-87962195.html 139 Great King Street SK11 6PR and were hoping to get some thoughts on the price, anything specific to look out for during the viewing, etc. We only have experience with flats down south so would appreciate any inputs. We live a 7 minute walk from the property so have no issues with the location.
Thanks in advance!

Can't advise you on price but I think it's a lovely wee house. It looks like it's been refurbished pretty well if the pics are anything to go by and I like that it has a cellar. The courtyard garden has heaps of potential too I think.
Oddly enough, I went through Macclesfield on the train yesterday on my way back to Cumbria following trip Down South and thought it was very pretty. I don't usually go that way but train was diverted due to engineering works.0

Definitely a very fresh tart-up. Last sold in January for £110k. Freshly on the market, so they're clearly optimistic initially and may settle down before long - if it hasn't been snapped up.
 Comparables...
£20k cheaper gives a lot of room for some redecoration, and obviously desperate to shift, since it's multi-agent.

            two thoughts...
are you happy that you will have nowhere to put your shoes / coats etc as the lounge is straight off the front sitting room? Those carpets are going to get very grubby as there's no hallway.
where does your bin live? it appears that your neighbour keeps his in the street....0

The last one has knocked 5k off the asking price so far but still well overpriced IMO.0

The only red flag I can see is that it looks as though there is a gate in the fence by the outbuilding. I'd want to know what that is for and if there are any access rights across this property or if this property has them across others. Shared rights of way are a nightmare and having had to deal with horrible neighbours misusing one in the past, I'd give it a wide berth if there are any.0

Smaller, and needs a lot spending on it. More comparable to the "before" of this one.Crashy_Time wrote: »0

Sorry I should have mentioned that the house we're renting near-by is a pavement terrace (wooden flooring on the ground floor) as well and we're pretty happy with it.
But you're absolutely right, with the kind of weather we get around here, having carpeting downstairs is a BAD idea without a hallway/porch and I've not seen it in other similar viewings. Wonder why they didn't think of wooden flooring instead of carpet during the refurb.
And yes, the bins live on the pavement! SmashedAvacado wrote: »two thoughts... SmashedAvacado wrote: »two thoughts...

Because it'd be a big chunk out of the living room.movingtomacc wrote: »But you're absolutely right, with the kind of weather we get around here, having carpeting downstairs is a BAD idea without a hallway/porch and I've not seen it in other similar viewings. It is what it is. A heck of a lot of people across the country live in places very like that in layout.0

Thanks! I was trying to find the old ad for the previous sale but couldn't. Did you come across it at all?
We saw the South Park road ones but aren't fans of that road.Definitely a very fresh tart-up. Last sold in January for £110k. Freshly on the market, so they're clearly optimistic initially and may settle down before long - if it hasn't been snapped up.
