I can relate to the excitement about shelving for sheds....we got some in the summer and it’s made such a difference. I can put my hand on most things in there now 👍
Sorry you ended up angry after all your hard work and organisation.
    January spends - £587.58
  • I can't believe it is only Tuesday.
Hopefully the shelves come on Friday. However I am getting my hair did on Saturday and having dinner out with my friend in the evening. So not much time for shedding.
However I am so freaking determined. So you know. And then fingers crossed it is time to tidy up and get ready for Christmas.
The new front door is coming on the 17th or 18th and I really want the downstairs finished by then.

    In money news,
Car MOT - 540 (new battery, starter motor and brushes)
Need to insure the new bunnies £406 pounds.
Need to pay for Christmas £500
Have 1600 pounds (600 emergency and 1000 for Christmas)
So am ok. But it is tight ish. And not what I wanted to do with the money. But the reality is am lucky to have the money and hopefully I won't spend that much on Christmas.
I need to make a different plan for saving next year. Re- ignite the fires.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    £406 for rabbit insurance 😱
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Blimey! That's extremely spendy! How long do rabbits live?
We had a rabbit for less than a week before it died, I was about 6 at the time and just couldn't understand why all my friends wanted them if they only lasted a week!

Yeah, I maybe won't spend all of the 500 pounds on Christmas, but new laptop for Mum. My house rabbit is essentially uninsured (uninsureable - too much to go wrong) and this year he has cost around 800 in vet fees and meds. These two are younger and seem good so far so worth the insurance. XX

Rabbits live between 8 and 12 years, it is normally 200 a year each so it is expensive (the dogs are 1200 each) but I guess I have it saved so I will suck it up! If they die young like yours did it is normally a heart defect, rabbits hide illness really really well and it would only be under stress that it would get noticeably ill - so moving to a new home, it is still quite a common thing in rabbit groups - also there is nasty virus they need vaccinating against which a lot of people aren't aware.

and before I give you the up and down on how to look after rabbits I shall go and have a nap XX

  • We had my grandparents living with us whilst I was growing up and when my mum was little they had a farm, they used to breed rabbits and chickens for the local butchers so asking for a rabbit as a pet was hilarious to them.

Much like my other grandparents who were a fishing family and you had outdoor cats to keep the yard clear of rats and mice and chucked the cats the fish guts and the odd bowl of milk but they weren't allowed in and vets didn't do anything other than put them down.

It's amazing how times have changed and how much our pets have become such a part of our lives.  I wonder what changed. It's a amazing to think that we are now willing to spend so much time/love/energy and money on a small furry creature.

  • It is a massive industry. Expensive and time consuming! And yes the excitement of a dog in the playground featured in my childhood!
I got my hair did. Expensive. Didn't go well. It is too short. I would like it a little longer. I love her, but I don't think I really need to spend 75 quid on my hair every 6 weeks - mind you the colour is amazing!
    Hey ho.
I have returned 250 pounds worth of parcels, now to wait and see if it goes through ok. That should help with the enormous bill!!
Forgot about car tax, so that is 270.... I mean I knew it was coming but OUCH.
Went to the pub last night and it was LOVELY.
However I am now poor, I have about 40 quid left till pay day! as in my current account. My savings are available for Christmas and the last of the brexit prep and rabbit insurance.
    I am tired again.
