New rabbit turned out to be a girl. I took her to the vets on Monday and they discovered this. She was spayed Tuesday and came home Tuesday night.
She was doing well. My original beautiful girl has not survived tho. She went into stasis over night Tuesday and died at the emergency vets last night. I need to go and collect her in a bit. I am horrified this has happened as it is essentially my fault for bringing the new rabbit in. I know I did with the best intentions but I just cannot believe it. I just can't.
Emergency treatment is expensive so I have had to use the money I saved for the car insurance. My emergency fund has been depleted and any extras I had saved have gone.
I so wanted her to be happy. I really did. And now she never will be.

    Nevertheless she persisted.

Sorrry to hear about your lovely rabbit. Don’t be too hard on yourself - you had the best intentions.

  • Evening all
Went back to work today and it was pretty good, I am totally knackered but enjoyed my lessons.......kids might not have :) but hey ho.
I was ok at work. Had to take the new bunny to the vets for her post op check. She is doing well. I feel so mixed up about it all. It is so hard to lose one and then have to bond with the new one who will now be alone for a while. I just have to get on with it. She is a nice rabbit. Just that whole rubbish thing of coming in the room and not having my beautiful girl come and greet me.

However I must push on as the blokes are coming tomorrow to paint the summerhouse and fix my shed. That would mean the last thing that needs doing is some weeding and sorting of membrane across the back of the garden. Sort of hoping I can do that bit.
The big bonus of tomorrow is that two strapping lads are emptying the shed, this means I can go through the contents and get rid of stuff. So it is a busy weekend but hopefully the start of some changes.
oo the dog has finally eaten his dinner.
I am going to have a little drink and go to bed.
I shall report back tomorrow XXX

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Rain stopped play :( and I am pretty gutted.
It was expensive to have the work done. And we couldn't empty the shed as I wanted cos it was too wet and muddy, they or rather he has done a good job and found a way to secure the shed, I just wanted it to be empty!
I need food so that is next. Then I will go back outside I think. and empty the shed. Got to keep going.

    Nevertheless she persisted.
