Currently paying £34.98 a month (!!!)
I haven't been paying attention to it for about 2 years and it seems to be bad value now.
I noticed some are about £15-£17 a month - Post Office and Vodafone - are either of those considered reliable? I've found Plusnet pretty good.

I have plusnet fibre and pay £10 per month plus annual line rental in advance. Just need to tell them your leaving when the time comes and negotiate. I don't have a calls package as I don't use the land-line for phone calls.0

I'm in the same position, no complaints about Plusnet fibre but £35-ish a month is crazy. Is it not necessary to start a switch to a new provider before negotiating a reduction? I left BT for Plusnet a couple of years ago, rang BT when they hiked their prices and they would only consider a tiny reduction, it was only when I'd started the switch to Plusnet that BT rang me to try and persuade me to stay - too little, much too late. BT were great too, just too expensive - I'd go back to them happily if the price was right. Rural area and 'fibre to the cabinet' half a mile away is the best I can get.0

Just call them up and tell them you've seen better deals out there. I pay Plusnet £7.99 for fibre (24 month contract) and even less than that with my referrals. Line rental is paid up front. I just asked them if there was anything they could offer me. I've heard of people getting it for even less.0

£34.98 for what exactly? Fibre(which tier) or ADSL? Do you have a calls package? What exactly do you need?
What does the checker at the top of the page say?0 -

It's the "Unlimited Fibre" package. No calls.
I just need the same again really.0 -

I ended up getting 66 - 80mb for £23 per month but had to call retentions a couple of times0 -

When I had found better deals, about October last, Plusnet just wouldn't budge so I walked. It does seem hit & miss, probably linked to some unknown targets, day of month, time of year, customers leaving / joining etc.Gardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0 -
I have just phoned retentions and they won’t budge on price. Have been with them 6 years and very disappointed I only wanted them to include phone calls with ordinary broadband for £23.99 ☹️0

Give it another few hours and try again.
Check new customer detals through the Broadband Club and whatever else, give them something to match. Where I am, NowTV all in £25. My current deal is (officially) £21 a month.
I find success (with anybody, not just Plusnet) tends to come mid morning any day of the week - around 11am in my experience.0 -
If you use TopCashBack or Quidco you'll get up to £90.00 cash back after three months, you'll actually have £85.00 back in reality, but for decent speeds and Anytime calls inclusive, NowTV offers a good 12 month option - I signed the folks up for the ASDL option, however, those who need fibre, this is good.0
