11.62 moved to my EF today making it 4203.70, might be a little more trickle in over the next few days but looking forward to pay day to send a nice chunk over and build our security.

Thank you Sammy70, I'm sorry you went through redundancy and hope that you find a suitable replacement soon (if that is what you would like of course).
Your post has really helped me see the reality and how quickly the EF we have could disappear so thank you for giving me a bit more of a push.
A few days ago I had a go at some free spins and today my EF thanked me for it when it saw the 12 top up. I think my EF needs an animal linked to it like the pig to the mortgage lol
Otherwise things are going OK, work is tough atm but I am a bit more positive than last week so that's a bit of a win I guess. Budgets are going a little out the window as OH is getting some gifts for Christmas but I had a bit of a budget for that next month and payday is Friday so will right itself soon and can't complain when he's getting me a few bits.
We have our garage room due to be done in Jan which will need to come out of the EF so even more reason to beef it up as much as we can.

I think we are all reading various diaries and it's making us think about things that are probably ticking over in our own lives.
Be very careful with spins and anything online like that, it's all too easy to get caught up with trying to make money quickly. I've seen it happen to a few people I used to work with.
Your EF could be a croc or alligator, snapping up the money, or a squirrel, squirreling away the money.
November and December always hurt the purse. Is there any way to save or buy throughout the year, then it's not taking a lump-sum out of one pay.

Thsnk you MF, I will definitely be very careful. I have only used one site which was free and have no intention of using it otherwise. I do appreciate your warning though as I understand how people get very easily drawn in.
Ohhhh a squirrel, yes that is perfect!
In relation to Christmas shopping, I have got stuff in advanced for others, my OH woukd get stuff and keep getting more stuff if he started early. It's my fault really as I should have Inc it in this months budget, I will learn from that :-)

Just a quick post, pay day today and I am proud to say £550 has been paid to my EF bringing it to £4766.70. I was surprisingly excited about this as I am starting to look at my finances a bit better I think.
Mimi target is to get EF to £4800 pre pay day.
Back later with a monthly round up but for now I am happy to report November was a great month.

That's definitely a good month!
Just to check, is your EF is a separate fund to any normal savings?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Hi MF,
The £550 is kinda next month's contribution as its that pay we use for Dec, but in 'Nov' 506.64 went to OPs and 24.62 to the EF.
Well atm its in H3BCbut I need to find it a proper home tbh, any thoughts welcome... I am thinking about maybe premium bonds and a virgin account although I don't have an ISA so not really sure what to do.
