Think of practical things to do with homeschooling. It's not always about learning to read, write, but life skills too. Learning comes in many different shapes.
Talk about the colours of a flower, how many petals it has, guess what temperature the weather is, drawing / colouring, helping with cooking, tidying up, sorting through old and unwanted clothes / toys, planning days out, helping write a shopping list etc
(I can't remember how old your little one is so keeping it generic for various ages!)

Glad he's feeling a bit better! 😊 I have no advice regarding homeschooling- thankfully I've never been in the position and really wouldn't want to be - I found helping with homework traumatic enough!! 🙈😂3

Ahh thank you. He is nearly 5 and gets set stuff by the school but we do learn around it and bend it to what we are doing at home. Definitely lots of other learning to do with them rather than sat at a desk.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. I was up in the night with my little one and wrote out 2 massive posts and lost them both so will try to summarise to get my thoughts down but haven't slept since 2am so it may be a bit all over the place.
Firstly we had to cancel our holiday which is in sad but on the upside we will be getting a refund of 3500 which I can put to good use.
Secondly we hardly use our garage but the roof and rendering need doing as it is pretty rotten and backs onto someone garden so best get it done before it causes further issues. A bit frustrating as it's an expense for nothing really. We are waiting on a quote from a friend so at least we are giving a friend business at this time.
Thirdly I made an OP of 11.52 yesterday (3.79 survey funds to go towards my monthly target).
Lastly as I was up I decided to brave it and post on the Pensions board and ask for some help. I got some really helpful responses but my head is a bit all over the place with the best thing to do to get the best benefit long term for us as a family. Tbh I have enjoyed having the mortgage free target and it has got my mind in focus but I now worry that I may not be doing the best to be tax efficient so I think what I need to do is run some scenarios based on what I have been told and do some more research. I think I may still end up OP the mortgage but it may move to just side hussle money. I am sat here feeling a bit gutted tbh as I wish I had made the decision to OP sooner but I can't change the past. I feel that I need to be careful with where we put our money to make it work hardest but also allow us money to have experiences as and when we want them with the boys.
One of the first things I need to priorities is sorting a Lisa for us both before hubby turns 40.
So that's where my heads at and I really don't know what the future will look like, what I do know is making OPs is a bit of an addiction of mine so may be hard to push money in another direction.
Hope you are all well, I'm off to hopefully some sleep.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. I am glad you are looking at pensions. You could become just as addicted to paying into that. It's all about balance...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

It is difficult finding the right balance. Heads says clear the mortgage as it's a debt and can save money by clearing it sooner. Tails says need to save for retirement, that's years away and where's the benefit now. Hopefully the pensions crew will help with the perspective.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3
