I have signed up and watched the first video, I think it's worth a go and is free 😊
I am considering a split tbh, I think I'm going to OP by 265.53 (which is the monthly money I have managed to save or increased income plus 150).  That will see is under the next £1k mark but mean the EF is growing along side.

Did the weekly shopping today and was definitely more mindful of my spending than I have been in a while. I am going to set a weekly food budget next month for each week and anything left will go to the mortgage.
I have noticed prolific studies are quieter on the weekend but been trying to find a few more so I can dip in and out of several when I have 5 minutes although so far prolific is best I just with they had a few more surveys. £45 OP PM will save me a year on the mortgage so I am going to aim to get this from surveys.
Not long until the pay day shuffle.

Have had a nice chilled morning with the boys in the garden enjoying the sunshine.
Have been continuing to trial streams for additional income although prolific is definitely my favourite. On the others you seem to do a study and not get paid because you haven't been picked which is frustrating. I have been paid 5.76 today which I have already directed to the mortgage and its saved another £3 in interest. Its small fry but will all add up.

Hello, I’ve enjoyed reading your diary. We are at a similar sum in regards to our mortgage, so I’ll be following you 😊. I started doing Proflic a couple of weeks ago and I never realised how many pennies you can make by doing surveys. It’s great to see the daily interest reducing on the mortgage 😊.

£3 in exchange for £5.76 is not to be sniffed at - not much else will get you that rate of return!
    Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed

Hi AprilR, thanks for reading my ramblings. It's def nice to actually get a pay out. Have you found anything else worth trying? You Gov is quite good I think, pays out at £50 but you know you are going to get points for the surveys so don't mind that it will take a while.

I agree SC, I know that atm whatever I can OP by almost saves me half again in interest which def helps the motivation.

It seems that me dithering rather than doing things has for once worked in my favour. We have managed to get 78.75 cash back for our BTL insurance (was going to be 63) so when that is available will go straight onto the mortgage. I have also done a referral to my OH so will earn £25 between us for that when he puts through our home ins renewal next month.
Money shuffle day tomorrow  although I need to direct more to EF than OPs so not as exciting as it could be. I do appreciate how lucky I am to be able to do either let alone both in this financial climate.

Congrats on OPs and increasing your EF. Great  to be able to knock a whole year off with relatively small OPs.

    Thank you SH :-)
So today is payday and the money shuffle has been complete.
Looking at the last few months we have ended up in the OD and have been having a little think about this. I don't think I am allowing enough day to day and shopping money. Our shopping bill has increased as we are home more and also shopping somewhere more expensive so that we can do click and collect and I hadn't reflected the budget for that. Also I think when we are OD we unfortunately keep spending as we are already in the OD.
So with that in mind I have put more money towards shopping and day 2 day spending in the hope that we can stay out of the OD... That's the plan anyway.
This month so far we have put:
    100 into savings
    278.45 OP
Although compared to what I would like to be paying off and saving this is low but we need to get out of using the OD mentality. I also need to remember our money is down due to furlough.
This month OPs will also come from:
TT Fridays (only if not OD)
    Saving on shopping budget
    Prolific and other survey sites
I think once my normal payment goes out and interest applied for the month the balance will be around 148,200.00 but I will report back.
Today's OPs have saved us 159 in interest bringing the total interest saved to 3847 and OPs to 6567.88.
We have reduced the term by 11.13 months... So creating closer to the year. I feel a few drinks for that one

    Onwards and downwards
