It took me ages to fill it all out and then I spent even longer double checking everything0

Just had this reply to my email from my creditor about backdating the default.
"Good Afternoon,
Thank you for your response. Your default date will be applied from when your account fell over 3 months in arrears.
We are currently just calculating the date for you and once confirmed I will reach out to provide further information,"
Will be interesting to see what date they come back with.1 -
Hello everyone.
Well I have had some very unexpected news this morning. My last creditor that I was waiting to default me has replied with the date that they will apply to my credit file, ready.....? MARCH 2020!!!! That is absolutely incredible It means that they defaulted the account only 4 months after my first missed payment! So they creditor that has given me the most trouble, wsa in fact the first default I receivedI have checked my credit file this morning and it is showing there
So that means ALL of my accounts have defaulted by July 2020 so I am already nearly a year into the 6 year countdownSo happy!

Morning
I hope you are all well. Nothing much to report at the moment. After my good news in my last post, I am still in a battle with that creditor. Even though they back dated the default to March 2020, they still added interest to my balance for the whole of last year. I complained to them to say I thought this was unfair as I wanted to clear my balance, but if they kept adding interest then it would never get cleared. They replied basically saying 'tough'!
So I have now escalated it to the FOS to see what they say about it. I was prepared to finally set up a payment plan with them to start chipping away at the total, but now I am thinking that I should hold off until FOS get in touch, which could be up to 8 weeks, as otherwise my payments will just get swallowed up by interest.
But the main thing is the account is defaultedso I suppose they can add whatever they want because come March 2026 I will stop paying no matter how much balance is left.
Got an assignment due in for uni tomorrow so cramming that last minute, when will I learn
My student membership for YNAB is due to expire on 5th May so I have today subscribed for another year as I had a 10% discount applied. The software has changed my life when it comes to my finance so I think it is worth every penny.
We are having a bbq this evening as it is a gorgeous day
Speak soon.

Morning all,
Wow, 3 weeks since my last update! Must do better!
Since my last update, one of my creditors for a smaller debt that I have (£200) have sold my account on and I have been offered a F&F of 50% from the new DCA. I will definitely be clearing this on pay day. Could probably push for more but for the sake of paying £100 and getting rid of it I think it is worth it.
Still waiting to hear back from FOS regarding the interest added to my biggest debt after the default date, so watch this space on that one.
Spending wise, I think now that things are opening up again, I need to look at my budget. I have had a rather spendy month this month and had to jiggle pots about on YNAB because I had overspent in my 'fun money' category. Maybe it is a sign that my budget is a bit too restrictive and not realistic.1 -
That’s good being offered f & f like you say best to accept and that’s another debt gone.1

I think we all might have to start relaxing fun money at least for first few months whilst we get used to being able to do things again.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
*Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
*Natwest - £1828.35 -£0.00
Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00
Creation Finance - £960.32 £840
*Total debt - £8040/£11641.17*
Savings
*Savings Buffer - £100/£1500
*Emergency Fund - £1500/£1500

Happy Monday everyone
The weekend went so quick! Had DD stay over which was lovely. Unexpected visit from the tooth fairy too.
Had a letter on Saturday from a company called NCO saying that I had a balance of £256 but the were offering a 70% discount on the balance if paid in the next 30 days. I have emailed them to ask who the original creditor is because I do not have any balances close to that on YNAB where I have all my debts listed. So will hopefully get a reply from them today and if I do recognise it then I will definitely be clearing that one this month tooThe F&F's are starting to come regularly now so long may that continue. I have read on here that Lowell are usually good with F&F's and I have 4 accounts with them, so may request CCA's and see where we go.

Over a month since I've last updated my diary! That's another thing added to the list of things I've been slacking with recently.
Payday today so just spent half an hour going through YNAB and filling all of the pots that I robbed from last month. The last couple of months have been the worst for me out of the last 18. Just seem to be spending all the time now that things have reopened. We have recently bought a small caravan from friends of ours so a big chunk went towards that.
Took DD to the cinema yesterday to see Peter Rabbit 2 as it was Fathers Day. Loved spending a few hours where it was just me & her. It did leave me down to my last £10 (not including savings account, that is out of bounds!) last night though and even though I had nothing to buy last night and knew I would wake up to my salary this morning, it did make me feel very venerable. Crazy as that is exactly how I lived every month pre light bulb moment!
Hey-ho I am back to where I want to be now but just need to rein it in a tad this month to see if my budget is realistic for the long term or whether I need to drop my savings rate a little to allow me to live more. It's all a juggle!
All good in the personal life. Uni going good. Grandfather has settled into the home. My fuel costs have risen by about £30pm as I am taking my grandmother to visit him at least once a week and it is a 60 mile round trip for me, yet my grandmother lives 0.4miles from the home but won't drive as there is a nasty bend and she doesn't want to meet another car/van there or she will panic, and she won't catch a taxi because she had a bad experience in the past. So yes, it is left to me. I don't mind obviously because you do anything for family but it is a bit of a slog after work when I am up at 5am. Not that I expect it but it would be nice if she offered the few £ that she would have to pay for the taxi to go towards my extra fuel costs. She thinks cars run on fresh airAnyway, that's my rant over
I have a week off next week and it can't come quick enough! We have booked to take the caravan away for the week and I can't wait to sit in a field with a book and switch off completely
Hope you all have a great week. Over & Out.

Another month gone without a diary update. MUST DO BETTER!
Been a crazy month to be fair, my grandad passed away so it has been full on with sorting everything out for my nan.
Last week this week before annual leave next week. We have booked to take the caravan away for 4 days which I am really looking forward to. Just need the weather to improve now, but not like last week! The heat was unbearable in work.
Finance wise, everything is ticking along. Continuing to pay myself first every month, sticking to the budget and paying my dmp payments, well apart from one which I have just posted on the main board about.
Last day in Uni this Friday and then we will have about 6 weeks off. Looking forward to that because we will be starting our final year dissertations after the summer break. Even though I am only in uni on a Friday afternoon, the workload is pretty tough while working full time. This time next year I will be done and it will all be worth it.
Hope everyone is doing well
