Hi frank, did Lowell offer you 70% discount even though you have been paying regularly?
    Enjoy your walk with dd

Yes I’d only made 4 or 5 payments and received the letter this week. Thank you. It is freezing out but nice to be active.

That’s brilliant, that’ll be another debt cleared soon then 👏.

This account hasn’t actually defaulted and was actually 6 years old so was probably unenforceable. But I just wanted to clear it because hopefully if Lowell see that I took them up in the discount offer, they will try with my other defaulted accounts 🤞 time will tell but yes you’re right, one less off the list 👍
  • That's great news well done. Let's hope they offer you similiar with the others. Bit of a pain that the one company playing you up aren't really playing ball. Let's hope they come back with a better offer.

Yes it will be interesting to see what they come back with. I have them by the doo-dahs really because I am offering them a payment based on my I&E that they asked for. OK the I&E might be a bit exaggerated but they don't know that ;) So even if they did take further action against me and went for CCJ then I doubt it would stand up because I am offering what I can 'afford' to pay. Will keep you updated on the outcome.
  • Happy Monday :)

Back in work on my lonesome again this week. Got a teams meeting after lunch with the boss to go through some bits & bobs and will probably call it a day after that.

Had DD over this weekend, we went for a nice frosty walk to the park while OH was working on track & trace. Made some healthy meals but did also make some cookies. Hard to find things to do during lockdown.

Spent this morning sorting YNAB out as my car expenses such as MOT, Service, Tax & Insurance are all coming up in Feb & March. It is such an amazing feeling having all the money sat there in pots waiting for it :) I am going to take my car to Halfords this year for the MOT & Full Service. It may seem daft but I have read some stories recently of people having huge bills from small independent garages. Now I don't know if it is coincident or completely legit but in my head, local garages are so quiet at the moment because the people WFH are not using cars, so the garages have taken a big hit financially, are the trying to make up for it elsewhere? Who knows but I just feel more comfortable taking it to a high street name for this year at least.

    That's it from me :)
  • I've always had bad experiences with Halfords. Doing work that could have been put off and they charge a lot more then my local garage.

Hmm that's interesting. I will do some homework on local garages. I have never stuck with a particular garage so haven't build up a relationship where I could trust them.

Maybe ask around and see what friends etc use. Mine got recommended to me by someone at work and always been good in telling me if it really needs doing. I had an advisory on for 2 MOTs and only when got to 3rd did he say it actually needs doing now.
