Oh dear......I havent updated since my first fitbit stats of the year in January. Thats not good for keeping me motivated.
Like many others, I am not working at the minute and cant see it happening anytime soon (Hospitality) so have lots of spare time to up my physical exercise. Whilst Ive not been lazy, Ive not really challenged myself and due to lots of cake,  biscuits and a daily alcoholic drink habit, Ive developed a bit of a lockdown belly. Eugh!! Makes me feel so sluggish so Im here to make amends. Although Ive been walking a bit and doing some yoga, Ive had no clear goal so Im challenging myself to walk for at least an hour EVERY day. Will be on day 3 today and did almost 2 hours yesterday.
So here are my stats that I have collected from January to keep me up to date:
    30.09
    23.88
    31.28
    33.24
    42.79
    40.25
    41.71
    42.75
    36.89
    31.00
    27.17
    25.68
    24.67
    25.37
    36.86
    30.42
    29.42
    32.89
Sorry........I know those figures are irrelevant to any one else but keeps me focused.
Added onto the one stat I posted in Jan, that gives me 581.63 miles so far.
OK...off to get ready for my hour walk.

Three more weeks of figures to add. Last time I was here I said I would be starting to walk an hour each day which I did do for 8 days but then my Dad got interested in walking with me and we extended our walks to between 2 and 3 hours.
Obviously cant keep this up every day so we have been going every other day or so and this week we managed to get our first ten miler in.

    58.43 miles
    34.26
    43.39
Gives me 136.08 to add to total.

  • I thought I would resurrect this thread to help me keep on the straight and narrow and help me stay motivated on my quest for a fitter, leaner, healthier body.

I am going to come clean and say I hate sport.....there is no way I would run, jog or ride a bike.  However I have now, finally at the grand old age of 69, 😂 decided to embrace exercise.

     I am now a convert.

    So..........Am I allowed to join if I don't run or cycle......😉.

My preferred form of cardio is dance.  It gets my heart rate up and leaves me feeling energised.  I also do tai chi.  I have been exercising for about 3 weeks now. When I started I was in a shocking state, suffering pain with fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis so I started very slowly, just 10 minutes a day and gradually built up.

I now do about 30 Minutes dance, followed by 30 minutes of tai chi.  I have also just Introduced some simple exercises using 1kg hand weights. I can manage 1 set of 8 reps.

I exercise at home. One day I might join a gym but not until we are done with COVID.

So that's me, I have done my routine this Mornjng.  After breakfast I am going to do some gardening......Even more exercise.  😂.

    See you tomorrow.
