Vanguard Dividend Payment

Options
I have a holding in Vanguards FTSE Developed World ex-U.K - Income fund and the dividend payment date is listed as 31/12/2019. But no payment has yet to reach my account. Can anyone confirm when I should expect to receive this? Does it take a few days?

It certainly can if they are being held on a 3rd party platform. HL say up to 10 working days if you have elected to have them payed to your bank account.

Even that has been optimistic in the past for some platforms!
  • You've posted the very question I was about to ask. I have the FTSE Global All cap INC fund held on Vanguard Platform and that has the same payment date - 31/12/19, and I was beginning to wonder when it should appear.

For whatever it's worth, both VWRL and VAGP held on the Vanguard platform paid dividends into my account yesterday (31/12) as expected.

Interesting, I also hold directly with Vanguard so was expecting funds to be received on the date. Wonder why the delay if you have received payment for other funds. Strange.

had the same question, i asked Vanguards Customer Service, their response

    "Good morning bhjm,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

We will always attempt to release our fund distributions in a timely manner. However, there could be circumstances where the distributions we receive differ from what we are expecting. Therefore, Vanguard will always investigate the distributions we receive before releasing them to the underlying investors, to ensure that the distribution figures are accurate and are not subject to amendment at a later date.

We are currently reviewing the figures and will update your corporate actions page with the distribution information as soon as possible, it's quite normal for the initial amount to show up in your account before it is updated with the finalised amount.

Regulations allow us up to 10 business days to allocate a distribution, but Vanguard will always look to allocate a distribution as soon as possible once our review is complete.

I hope this helps and wish you a Happy & Prosperous New Year.

    Kind regards,
    Tina

I have only just checked after seeing this thread, and it is shown as having arrived in my x-o account on 27/12. However, as per a thread of mine from a few weeks ago, that doesn't mean it did actually arrive in my account that day.

Yes I've found my Vanguard dividends arriving in x-o a few days after the date they are recorded as arriving.
My understanding is the dividends are paid in $, which leads to a difference in conversion rates and payment times between platforms - as they use different currency converters using different exchange rates at different times.
