Haha I feel your pain with crafting.(I have given myself a proper cut on my knuckle today from a corned beef tin.Why are they still allowed in this day and age?they are lethal!) No stars likely to be finished for gifts this Christmas. I can't hold a needle.
I finished wrapping the other day.I do embrace a gift bag more and more these days.Just a few bits left to buy when the shops open again and I am done.I have not written any cards yet,but we don't send many.
Well christmas regulations have foxed me.Christmas day will have to be us and my Mum as we are a bubble.DD1 and DD2.That's 3 households. We will go to see MIL on Boxing day briefly and then onto Oxfordshire to see DS and GF probably in the park!.Me n Mr V are working Xmas eve and DS only finishes school on 23rd,so we have a very brief window to see him. It feels quite sad that our family can't all meet up.
I intend to put my trees up this weekend before I go back to work next week. Can't wait.Christmas decorations give me such pleasure.
Nic it's lovely that your youngest want's the elf to return. If your children are anything like mine when they are older they will still want all your family traditions to continue. Do you know what will be happening in Scotland yet with Christmas visitors?
RR I hope you are starting to feel a bit better xxx

I know the rules say it’s ok, but I just couldn’t face the thought of passes the virus to my Dad or my sisters new baby for the sake of one meal 😞
I would happily meet him for a Christmas morning walk at least. My girls really love our Christmas traditions. My son doesn’t seem to notice lol. But the girls love doing certain things every year. I love that about them. Even though my eldest says our tree is tacky with mixed matched baubles, she loves talking about each bauble and where we got it or which one of them made it. Even last year the elves (we have 3) kept disappearing into the eldest two beds for a cuddle. Nice to know they are still young at heart.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:3 -
Vulpix the only trouble is officially those three households are supposed to stay the same for those few days
Seeing as our family group is many more households than that (we don't all meet up together) I am still no wiser as to what to do this Christmas .£2 Savers Club for 2022 #124 -
In some peoples cases three households could be 15 people and in others could be 4 or 5. We will all have to find a way that suits I guess. I think maybe we will stick to rule of six throughout£2 Savers Club for 2022 #123

We've never met up with anyone for Christmas - it was a rule we set years ago as we both have divorced parents and large extended families and it would have been silly to try to visit everyone....so we decided to visit no-one and just stay at home and visit everyone individually at some point over December/January. SIL did some years host a bit party on Boxing day that we attended as it meant we saw the whole of that side of the family, but obviously that's not happening this year. Instead we're doing a family video-call with MIL, SIL and a few others in lieu. My Mum is the only person kicking up a bit of a stink about it all so I think I'm going to have to be mean about the whole thing and tell her to suck it up and wait until it's safe. She's high risk, so is my Dad and we're not covid secure (hubby is a bus driver) so for me, that's not something I'm willing to take a chance on. Hubby is working all the way up to Christmas Eve too, and then back on the 27th.....we literally have the 2 days to celebrate as a family so it's going to be a relief to not have to travel. Mum's not seeing it that way and is playing the guilt trip big time every time I speak to her. Now it's all been properly laid out I can say no officially now though.

Yes I think that’s the confusion STOKIE, it’s three households in one Christmas bubble for the whole five days rather than as many as you like as long as no more than three at a time. For Christmas Day it’ll just be our household and DD2’s household which will be four adults and two children with possibly a visit from my sister and brother in law (they might be moving before Christmas so it’s all up in the air. The problem for us is that as DD1 and the children aren’t coming for Christmas this year we were supposed to all be meeting up at her house on 23rd but that would be five households so isn’t within the rules. As DH is the one with multiple health issues I’m thinking I’ll take a common sense approach but at this moment I’m not sure exactly what that will be. I never really appreciated how simple life actually was for us before. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :4

I've not been here for simply ages. Well a little while. I think I am going to have a big sort out of decorations this weekend. My son got them down from the loft and to be quite honest we really do not need them all. Hopefully they will find a good home somewhere. It will be myself and youngest son for Christmas so no major celebrations like most but we like it that way.Getting prepared for a major overhaul come new year, I know I say it every year but the past nine months or so have made it hit home.Cannot believe its actually December in six days, it really did creep up when I wasn't watching. Even though Heart Christmas has been blaring out the radio.Anyway I hope all are well and I promise if there is a new thread next year I will be far more active in it.Love to all xx5
