Hi delurking for a little help please. A few weeks back I was looking online for lovely Christmas bits and found a shop that was selling black / dark grey towels with a few stars on and maybe the wording sparkle. I can not remember which website i was looking at so thought one of you lovely lot may have also seen these and remember. The only reason I didn't buy them at the time was because they were not yet in stock. Any help would be gratefully received.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Vulpix - glad the weight loss is going well . I started almost two weeks ago walking , I do 3 miles most days and although sometimes it’s a struggle after I’ve done it I feel much better . I’ve definitely lost weight but not going on the scales. We have decided to put just the tree up this year just can’t be bothered with everything else.I was diagnosed with depression again yesterday it’s been 5 yrs since the last bout . Really understanding nurse and GP resulted in new medication. Hopefully by the new year I will be on a more even keel . Sorry to bring the mood down .4

Hi all, my Christmas preparations are well and truly being hijacked by the need to finish this cross stitch picture for my MiL. I wanted to start wrapping and writing cards early but every moment is taken up with this project to get it finished in time. It’s starting to stress me out a bit so I’m now telling myself that it doesn’t matter if she gets it after Christmas day. She has some other bits to open. I’m still going to keep at it but I need to take the pressure off in my mind! The boys wrote their letters to Father Christmas yesterday and we posted them off, Wiggle has asked for a Karaoke machine – wish me luck!
vulpix you can send your Christmas card whenever you like, I did the names a bit earlier to make sure it was done and everyone wasn’t rushing. I’ll probably send mine around the start of December.
nic I’m sorry to hear you can’t meet your dad for a walk anymore, all these little things make such a difference. I live 100 miles from my family and never have I wished more that they just live around the corner from me! Hopefully it’ll only be a short period where you can’t see him.
Spendless I loved reading about your present wrapping rituals! And you were quite right to tell DD. I have a DH and two boys, so things would just well and truly go to pot in my house I think! My DH does have it easy, it gets to December and suddenly all these wrapped presents appear for everyone! Luckily he’s good in other ways so I don’t mind too much. I think I may have to start storing things at my MiL’s, we don’t have a loft and my eldest is starting to get to a snooping age…

I had a happy moment last night. My youngest is 9. I’m pretty sure she doesn’t believe in Santa anymore, she said something a month or so ago. But last night she asked when the elves come again. I kind of thought the elves were retired now (and was a bit glad) but I’m so happy I have one more chance of keeping that magic alive.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:7

Nic we have no children in the house but the elf still makes the odd appearance
Wonder if today will be the day that sees the bulk of the wrapping finished. I doubt it. I really wanted it all finished this week but we shall see.
Hope everyone is doing the best they can at the moment. The last few weeks have been a bit frustrating for me, I am getting edgy about Christmas, there are so many people who we try to see at Christmas (joys of split families) and just don't think it is viable this time so no idea how to manage it and who to see (if anyone)£2 Savers Club for 2022 #126 -
Redrobin you're not brining the thread down at all. I stayed off most of the year because I wasn't in the mood to talk about festive things, or planning anything. It's a difficult year for many in many different ways.
Princesskitty29 I feel your cross stitch (literally) When my brother's eldest was born I made a personalised santa sack for her - hand appliqued reindeer, santa and his sleigh and her (looong) name on the front. Took me ages and thought she'd prob be an only child so kept that in mind with the effort. Lo and behold, a few years later along came her sister - also with a loooong name. Not only did I have to then source all the same items again (not easy as our local sewing shop had closed and the company who made the original sack I made no longer made them...I had to ask them to make me one specially) but I can honestly say if I never sew another sodding reindeer in my life it will be too soon. Literally blood, sweat and tears went into both of them (though they were fully worth it and looked fab - just to blow my own trumpet).
No card written here, nor any presents wrapped - also getting the notion that the place we normally get Xmas dinner from is not going to do their annual discount promotion which is a shame.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
