I bought for my 8 year old How Winston Delivered Christmas - an awesome book for younger children with a chapter to read each day of December with activity ideas too but I'm coming with a cheeky ask if there's any Christmas or winter themed books they would recommend for a 14 year old to read? Not romance though! I also need to get them some Christmas pj's, hard to find matching with their sizes. A lot of the family themed ones don't take into account teenagers!
There is one coming out on the 29th - Tinsel the girl that invented christmas it has good reviews but looks like its in the 9+/11+ age range which maybe a little young depending on what she's into but might be worth a look.
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk5 -
There is a book called 'Dickens at Christmas; by Charles Dickens, of which A Christmas Carol is one of the stories within it.
Agatha Christie also wrote some Christmas themed books. 'The adventure of the Christmas pudding' and 'Hercule Poirot's Christmas' are two that come to mind.6 -
Been a rough few weeks my brother had to have a covid test and I was being cautious so haven’t been out in a week. But it came back negative today a long wait but all ok. I have finally finished my Christmas gift buying, just got to wait for a few bits to arrive in post but there are delays. I’ve started a traditional Christmas jigsaw today I picked up in a charity shop.
Christmas made easy magazine is really good. Hope everyone is ok?£2 savers club 2025 #2= £485 -
I'm really sorry for not replying to the christmas stocking ideas - although I had been reading along I had missed a couple of pages so hadn't seen the replies. Love the what did you have in your stocking ideas and the retro sweets.I've just had a thought about the little cross stitch kits - I'm wondering if one would go in a cracker - I'm always trying to think of new things to put in crackers and one of my friends does cross stitch so she might like a little cute cross stitch kit. Now racking my brains for the other crackers.....2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons5

Other than hubby’s iPod which I’m waiting to see Black Friday deals my shopping is done . Going shopping later today to get a few food items for Christmas lunch . Thank god lockdown starts Wednesday because I’ve promised Dd a meal out at Whitby’s on Tuesday lol my life wouldn’t be worth living if she had to for go her gluten free fish and chips !5

Whitby's is lovely, but they cook in beef dripping, so out for vegetarian DD. Enjoy the meal. I'm totally expecting everywhere to become 'mad' over the next few days.6

Managed to pick up some cola cube sweets to go in my dads stocking in tkmaxx. My mums tree present arrived yesterday which was good as there had been many delays and didn't think it would turn up. In tkmaxx they had Friends mugs and central perk advent calenders- the calender was £12.99. i also saw a 5 pieces gift set for £19.99. (I cant remember who was doing a friends hamper)
The works online has some really great things reduced on there for gifts. They also i noticed sell some great kits ( make own candles, pebble art etc) 2 for £10.00. They have brought back the 10 kids christmas picture books for £10 offer again this year.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £486
