Boots Christmas section is looking promising I noticed a few eco gifts on there. Bought my vegetarian joint for Christmas dinner which is tucked away in freezer last year i couldn't get hold of it nearer Christmas so got it early this year. In my local Sainsburys they had the Lindor pick and mix so not sure if i will buy them like that this year or in boxes. In Sainsburys they had the big pack of J20s down to £5.00 the orange or raspberry flavour the dates were 2022 on them. They also had tiptree gins in a jam jar reduced to £1.10 in raspberry, rhubard or strawberry flavour. Ideas for adult stocking fillers or tree presents.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £487

I had a parcel from Ali Express arrive today with lots of Christmas bits in. Thanks to whoever mentioned this place; I've never used them before and have now done a couple of orders. I got three of the wooden music boxes as stocking gifts. One was queen and played Bohemian Rhapsody, one was Harry Potter and played the main theme tune and the last one was 'can't help falling in love with you' for the hubster as it's one of our lovey-dovey songs lol! Really pleased with them.
I also bought some lovely velvet ribbon and washi tapes for wrapping gifts too.
If 'Plan A' goes ahead (and Boris doesn't change the rules too much) I will be having Christmas for ten of us at my house which is nice as I haven't hosted for a couple of years. I'm already starting to think of the menu and table settings. Hopefully I won't get a repeat of my last hosting of Christmas where my oven packed up in the middle of cooking the roast spuds.....had to get the acti-fry out, slow cooker and hammered the microwave but we got there, even if the roasties were not quite crispy enough!9 -
Now it feels like winter is just around the corner just booked our flu jabs for sept 14th . Lloyd’s pharmacy are taking bookings online .5

Evening everyone,
REDREDROBIN the candy canes were a bargain! I’ve got my flu jab booked for October it will be my first time, but I’m not taking any chances this year
TQ great bargain finishing your mums presents and treating yourself. I think I’m going to get a few of my favourite Lindt balls instead of a box this year, hoping it won’t hurt my diet too much then
RACHSECRET OMG I’m intrigued about the music boxes now, with those tunes. That’s everyone’s nightmare, the oven packing up on Christmas Day#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE7 -

GTQ quick question you know you mentioned the Avon advent calendar, can you remember which one it was? I’ve caused a bit of a stir in the Avon reps FB group 🤪 because no one has seen it or heard about it!

need to read back and catch up
I feel like I've blinked and missed the last couple of weeks - we had to isolate for 2 weeks so dd could have the surgery shes been waiting for so not been anywhere and dd/ds had to celebrate their birthdays stuck indoors. Then Taz ended up needing emergency surgery this week he coped amazingly and is recovering well but it means his stitches won't be out before his birthday for which we've booked a weekend away and he's on a no swimming/sports/take it easy for 3 weeks which means he can't do half the things we'd planned which he's pretty upset about at the moment.
Lots of xmas shops popping up online - lots of stuff oos at the moment but I love being able to browse and get ideas
signed up to the wait list for boots No7 calendar though not sure if I'll get it - depends on the contents but I have enough points so might treat myself if it looks worth it.
DD is hoping to order the glossybox calendar again. She got it last year and it was really good - I've looked at the contents spoiler and this years one has lots of things she'll use in so well worth the cost even though I do think its expensive
A few places have the disney mini book advent calendars for £12 disney /marvel/frozen versions - ordered the frozen one for my dgd's
ordered a couple of ted baker gift sets for the girls nice little stocking filler type gift for £5

Have a rough plan worked out for xmas visits providing we can see other people indoors - if things are ok we might still do a bigger get together if its possible but this way we know we have time to see everyone as long as we are allowed too.
Struggling a bit with xmas activity ideas this year as trips out might be difficult and a lot of xmas events have been cancelled/postponed till closer so can't plan much in advance.
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk5 -
Morning, the weather is a lot cooler here and it’s definitely feeling a lot more autumnal. Planning a shopping trip today to TK Maxx and home bargains, hope to pick up some nice autumn decor. Maybe nice nice candles and cushions. I like to change the living room colours with the seasons, but my cushions got chucked last year after being too flat.I’ve bought a few things for Xmas. Mainly American sweets for the kids. They love Reece’s stuff, so I got some things in Morrison’s when I seen them and a nice pair of soft checked trousers for my youngest DD. I’ve still loads to buy, but I’m doing it slowly as I see it. I do enjoy being out in shops in December and hearing Christmas music, hoping we are still able to do that this year.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:6

Treasurequeen, can I ask what vegetarian joint you bought? I usually make my own
vegetarian tart. And don’t like nut roasts much. I was going to get a quorn roast or wait and see how much the Wicked crowns they are bringing out in Tesco. But I think they will be too expensive as all their stuff is. I’m always looking for something new to try.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:5
