It seems weird how the popularity of Soap & Glory has changed. I went into two different branches of Boots recently and they both had loads of S&G in the sales.
Yes I have a set of it in the boot of my car that will go to the charity shop. Someone gifted me for xmas. Haven’t even looked at it to see wots in it. I quite like their stuff but think it’s overpriced and I’d rather use other things.
No 2 out for the year for me today, dry shampoo, unfortunately I will have to repurchase as I have none in stocks and I use frequently. This was a bumble and bumble one I got in a subscription box, whilst I liked it I’ll be reverting to a cheaper version. I have dark brown hair and there is one in Tesco I like for dark hair. Costs about 1.500 -
Swapped over from naked heat palette today to ABH soft glam. Going to use it for the month and see how I get on. The colour story in it isn’t the easiest to come up with full looks and I must have only used it a handful of times if that. Will be interesting to see how the month goes with it. Crazy to think I just hand £40 quid over for these things without using them
I know what you mean, rather a lot of money for a bit of powder really. I am enjoying using the palettes I have but when it comes to replacing anything I will be happy with just a couple of shadows in colours I know work for me.Hi all,
I used to post on this challenge a few years back, but have been lurking recently. I need to join back in properly to make a real effort to use up my stash this year. I still have items which have moved house with me twice or three times. I'm sorting through items and disposing of things that can't be used or donated.
I'm starting with easy uu wins such as sachets, samples, half used items and making a small basket of PP items for the month. My goal is to use up at least one moisturiser (lotion, butter, hand cream etc) and one soap per month (i'm not focussing on sizes of the items, just outs). These are my two problem areas.
I'm particularly enjoying your mantras Dolly84, I'm trying to become more sustainable and eliminating plastic, but first I'd like to use up all the stuff I have rather than chucking it (money spent and all that).
Does anyone know of any recycling schemes other than the Body Shop or TerraCycle for items like lipstick/lipbalm/mascara tubes?
Welcome back and thank you for your comment. I don't know where else you can recycle, I know sometimes brands do a promotion where you bring empty things and they give you a mini product but I imagine they send the empties to TerraCycle.
First uu of the year
Body Shop Cranberry Joy Body Butter 50ml - lovely but WNBA, I have washed and saved the pot though.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
Fashion on the Ration 28/660 -
Ooh before I forget. On the subject of soap I slice my soap and shampoo bars up and just put one slice in the soap dish on the sink and I have one of those travel cases for soap which lives in the shower caddy with my shampoo bar slice in it, I always dry the case out after use and this saves on waste and stops the bars going mushy.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

You've just reminded me that I threw away 3 mini palettes from Tarte the day before yesterday. They were released as Holiday Holiday palettes some years ago and were Emma's. She donated them to me but I don't rate the formula so they are gone.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I used to belong to this thread several years ago and then stopped lurking/posting as life seemed to get in the way. I still have a massive stash to work through but last year didn't add too much to it. However, starting a new decade has made me realise that in 10 years time I want to be completely clutter free so am hoping I can rejoin to keep my focus. I have my pan list for the month:
Liz Earle eye serum 5ml
New CID coconut ice lip gloss
Decleor aroma cleanse mousse
SBC arnica muscle soak
Clarins extra firming day cream
Elemis exotic cream moisturising mask
Liz Earle rosemary & rock rose handcream
L'Occitane bonne mere honeysuckle soap
Lily Lolo white eyeshadow
Clarins alpine herb cleanser
Clarins chamomile tomer
Clarins night cream 5ml x 2
Origins incredible spreadable ginger scrub
Tarte brown eyeliner
Lee Safford Here come the curls conditioner
Lee Stafford Here come the curls shampoo
Happy New Year everyone!0 -

Mac will give you a new product for six empties worth knowing for anybody that uses Mac. I remember reading about somewhere that took empties from all places. I’m sure someone will know and pop on and post.0 -
Well I have to say I enjoyed the eyeshadow look I created for work today. I enjoyed feeling a bit different lol. Have decided how I need to approach this is maintain a reasonable stock of the things I use frequently and rate so I don’t have to repurchase them all anytime soon and try and mostly use up the things I’m not fussed on or just ok but won’t be replacing.
Hence my Clarins hand and nail treatment has gone back to rest for a bit and a neals yard hand cream il not replace has come out to be used up.0 -
