Thanks for the new thread ssteveo. I’m back of course. Let me know if you want me to post my stash lists which are extensive! The only areas that are not hair raising are haircare and nailcare. All other categories have seen a rise in numbers. Once I am back at work tomorrow I will arrange for a Benefit Dandelion Blush, Bare Minerals Lip lacquer and bottle of OPI Nail Envy to be put on sale. The Nail Envy is a coloured one (Samoan Sand). I’m not enjoying the colour in the original formula (nail polish) and using it as a base. I don’t enjoy coloured nail envy anyway.

Before Christmas I had offered to purchase some Vitamin C serum from a Facebook Seller and we agreed for me to make payment and her make delivery after Christmas. I will fulfill that agreement but then am putting myself on a strict no buy until I need my Elemis Balancing Lime Blossom cleanser, The Body Shop Chamomile Cleansing Butter or Amika Bombshell blow out spray whichever is needed first.

Yesterday I bought two replacement Real Techniques sponges as all of mine are no longer becoming clean when I wash them

So my PP list for January is

    ABC body lotion
    ABC body spray
Jack Wills body spray (using as room spray)
    Amika Bombshell Blow out spray
B&BW Frosty Morning Uktra Shea Body lotion
    Lacura Moisture Boost Cream
    Prai Neck and D!colletage Cream
Gym for your skin vitamin c serum
    Coco and Eve hair mask
    Percy & Reed dry shampoo
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

    Happy new year all. sooooooo
I want to get my crazy excess toiletries down to just what we need and not all the other gumph.
I was thinking about it and what do we really need as a family in terms of toiletries.
I am thinking of narrowing it all down to
    shampoo
conditioner (for nit combing mainly the small girls)
soap (shower gel or bar, which is better?)
my face cream with spf and body cream with spf (i am ginger and burn super easy)
    kids sunscreen
    my childs nappy cream
    my childs eczema cream
facewash for my tweenAGER who has been recommended it by GP
    toothpaste.
    coconut oil.

    anything ive missed?

i was thinking of using up my variety of body/ hand creams and fancy bits and bobs and just use 1 cream (my spf body cream) for my hands also?

I have tonnes to use up.
Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!

Welcome to the thread. I like your minimalist train of thought. My commiserations re the dreaded nits. They were the bane of my existence when my daughter was at nursery. I don’t think we ever were rid of them until she left the place.

The shower gel or bar question depends on you. A shower gel is easier to keep hygienic if it’s used by more than one person however if you want to cut down on plastic a soap bar would be better. I do like a soap bar but have to be careful as it clogs our bath drain. This can be used as hand wash also.

Do you have much of a stash to work through?

yes, the nits are a real pain, my two small girls (5 and 6) seem to get them as a hobby when at school so we do get through the conditioner.
I like a soap bar too but also think it can clog stuff up so then have to use unblockers every month or so to get the water flowing again.:rotfl:
I have a large stash to work through but a lot of it is fancy bits rather than basics except for the 30 bars of soap I had gifted to me when my friend closed down her business., its lovely organic soy soap.
I have 4/5 hand creams to get through but that's not hard as I'm a nurse and use it all day long, I also have a variety f bath bombs, face masks and makeup products.
I have gone through all my makeup and chucked all the 'expired'/manky stuff and just kept the nicer bits and what I use regularly.
I then have 10 kinds of toothpaste from a variety of brands and a few more tubes of the kids mild stuff lol.
I'm gonna write an inventory of what I have.
