Slept fine in my new bed . Something odd though: my feet were falling out at the bottom . I realised then that I had too many pillows .
The previous bed was a ' platform bed' . Basically meaning that there was no headboard and the pillows more often than not , fell through the gap .
Just been to the surgery to collect my prescription slip . I asked for prescription slip and my speech collapsed again
I await phone call from job coach for another phone interview .
The last one was 10 days ago . Extracting the ursine imho.
I have decided to return laptop as it hasn't been working out of the box as it should . The ' customer service ' is worse than crap and I keep getting fobbed off about a tech person who is going to contact me .
I asked for return label . Still waiting for that .
Guess I'll have to phone them . If I can get through that is .
On Saturday the number given seemed to be an answerphone and sounded like I woke somebody up ..1 -
Glad you had a great sleep last night, it makes all the difference.
Shocking over the laptop, hope it gets sorted soon x1 -
Thanks pmo2 .
Okay, spoke to the job coach Andrew . The thing is, he is my relief job coach had to complete my commitments section etc and keep journal up to date . He's not bad , but is the kind of person that talks at you and you are lucky to be able to say 'yes" / "ok" etc . He's a nice guy for a job coach tbf . I didn't need to tell him of what's been going on .
I just listened and said yes when prompted when he stops .
He is not putting too much pressure on me at this stage , and I'm complying with everything as best I can .
My next phone appointment is with Johnny on 28th jan just so he can complete the stuff that Andrew couldn't . Andrew wished me well ..
Got through to Kathryn at itzoo ( sh itzoo ) . No warmth there .
I was told that dpd will send returns label sometime today .
TBH , I half expected to be transferred to the tech team .
Shame really, as I was getting to grips with it and even opened an outlook account .
Maybe I'm better off with learning the Microsoft office for Mac . If that's the way to go , Then I may be better getting the legit version from Apple if it's the same stuff that I'll be using at the college should I get in . Your thoughts are welcome ..
Feeling a bit groggy and my flat is beginning to look like steptoe's back yard ..1 -
Small progress seems to be made .
However, I'm having strange dreams of late .
Where to start : 1) . Myasthenia Gravis ! The pain doesn't seem to be as bad of late Since being given naproxen ( strong painkiller ) a few weeks back . It has taken a few weeks for them to have an effect and they seem to be working . The breathlessness is still there now and again , but I need to start walking again when in the right frame of mind . I have a feeling that the appointments with the specialist in London will not be every six months but longer . We'll see.
2.) Training with mr. Trainer and fitness in general : Yesterday mr trainer stepped things up a gear and I'm keeping up . He is still impressed. The only thing I have to do is to kept going ..and stop the crisps and reduce the bread . I did that for a while last year and aim to do it again this week , but in a slow fashion and not have huge cravings making me stay in the bad habit .
3.) it seems my angry email to lloyds pharmacy has done the trick.
I received a very late polite response telling me that they are sorry etc
I received a phone call today from the branch telling me that the bromide is in stock . I was going to go to Boots in the dolphin centre in Poole , but no need . I sent a very polite thank you as you do.
4) The laptop : It has gone back to shitzoo. I want my refund and if I don't get it by Friday I'll send email asking for it .
5) I looked on you tube and used the beginners course to Microsoft word . Okay I have the Mac version which is slightly different .
It works though, and I'm gonna follow through and Keep practicing for my course whenever that is.
6) Sorting out my clutter : Front room looks the best it has been since I moved in. I put the coffee table in the bedroom vertically and have much more room . The bedroom is about 90% there. As for the gas/ music room , big improvement there also. When I get boiler removed and new boiler put in the different place it should give me a bit more space to stack things . TBH, the biggest pains now are candles/ diffuser and books the size of coffee tables . Where the hell do I put those?!? I may have to get a small trendy wooden crate or something .
7) Universal credit and hopefully part time job:Obviously playing on my mind . Last night , I had 2 strange dreams about work that I used to do , trying to find new departments and people that have moved. Also getting into a lift which was the floor of a different company full of suits . In the lift I was hanging out and falling out from the lift just about to fall to my death . Then I got pulled in by just one arm .
When I woke up , I was actually half out of my bed
The bed is great though, and still has that nice smell of a new hard back book. Something like that . The leather settee still has that nice smell of leather also .
My dyson is working and the new battery was what was needed..1 -
you could always just use google docs, this is googles own cloud based docs / spreadsheet system (is called sheets).
there wont be much difference to MS word in all honesty, features are still the same and called the same just located in different menus etc.
and tbf, a lot of businesses tend to use accounts en mass with google (g suite, for business) rather than licence 100 machines for ms word etc,
things are moving on cloud for lots of reasons..
and ms isnt the only office provider that it used to be.1 -
Yes, I use Google Drive to store my documents and that used sheets - it's perfectly fine on iphone/ipad and macbooks1
-
Thanks DB . Some good tips there .
Sleeping not been great . Another strange dream last night
I have been getting to grips with Microsoft word for Mac and it is less daunting as I've been looking at tutorials on you tube and it's own help pages . I tried XL , but that is more fiddly but I will persist this week .
Yesterday , I took a glance at "Work and Health programme Job Search Booklet." I was under the impression that I had to go through everything and that I had to have everything ready or there abouts , for this mornings meeting with seetech plus . I was wrong .
This morning I had to attend see tech pluss appointment in Branksome
That was for 09.30am. I was then supposed to have a phone interview
( yet another one ) with my regular job coach at 10.45 am ..
What happened was that I got to Seetech at 09.10 . When I was on the bus home , I get a call from job coach at 10.15 am. Being my usual easy going self , I decided to talk on bus and the call finished just as o got off at my bus stop.
When I saw the chap at seetech , he was very impressed with my mock cv and cover letter . He was astounded that I had made notes and was more or less on top of the work and health booklet which has many pages . It seems that I did too much and the booklet was for the whole duration of my time with seetech over the coming weeks and months . When I spoke to the job coach , he seems happy enough .
The one thing I have to discuss on the benefits board is about my fit notes . The job coach acknowledged I have a fit note till March .
I'm not sure whether to get another one or not, as I'm due to go to court appealing for the LCW I think I'm entitled to .
So, I have the 17th of Feb appointment with seetech and 18th Feb phone appointment with my fill in job coach who I had last week .
Yesterday , the boiler has been playing up again . TBH , I've had a good run where I expected it to stop altogether . Yesterday I was adjusting the boiler pressure about a dozen times . I'm praying that eon help before it stops completely .
Tomorrow I'm going on a Boost your Confidence course which I think is for 3 weeks at oakdale college ..1 -
You continue to do great with UC. It sounds like a constant barrage of requests and calls and appointments. I suppose they do that to put people off? The confidence course sounds good. You might also make new friends there.
Have a good day.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks DIA . I think that you are right about them trying to put me off
If I was in different circumstances, I probably would've quit by now
However, seeing as I have ( or did have ) time on my hands and have made the biggest change in my life , I'm just seeing how far I can get
I do sometimes think " what have I done ? " " Should I just sell my flat and rent for a while then die ? If so, when ?"
Apologies for being slightly morbid and realistic , but that's what universal credit and hardly knowing anybody here does
Anyway , onto today : more strange dreams ,and waking up way too early. The boiler situation is still a pain , and washing pots and pans and showering in lukewarm water is trying but I'm hoping that I'll get a result before March and the new boiler is had .
I went to the Boost your confidence programme . Odd. Only 2 more sessions . Only a few of us there . One lady left and never came back after the 15 min break . It was a bit like " hi my names John and .."
I think I mentioned too much really , but I did it anyway .
As you know , I do ramble...1 -
Had a phone call from Poole job club wondering why I haven't been this year . It was a polite courtesy call, as the job club is not compulsory . I obviously explained the courses I had to attend and the visit from EON regarding the boiler .
I am due to go back for another 2 sessions of the boost your confidence that I went to yesterday . There was a class of six. As I mentioned, that went down to five . Im the oldest and I don't know whether I should continue ..
Just had an email from universal credit telling me that " a significant change has happened to my universal credit account which will affect your payment . You should check your urgently to review the change "
I added notes to my journal about yesterday , but then mentioned that I had to pay an upcoming bill for boiler / a service charge bill due in March / and new bed and mattress / clear credit card .
So, I'll probably get another call giving me a sanction .
I just wonder ..why bother ?
