Wow, I love that blanket! Glad to see the cat also approves. 😀On the basis that you should always face your fears (except for bungee jumping) I have been watching lots of YouTube videos on how to sew up knitting, and I’m pleased to report that I’m now sewing like a pro. Unfortunately the cardigan that I was hoping to finish looked a bit odd once it was blocked, and I realised that the sleeves are much too short. I’m going to have to redo them which is a bit annoying, but I’m determined to get this done before my friend’s little boy is too big for it. It’s already been outgrown by his older brother for whom I originally planned it, and she’s not having any more!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.5

PS, I love your jumper, Pip. When I finish all these outstanding projects I’m jolly well going to knit something for myself, and perhaps I’ll be more motivated to finish it!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.6

I was browsing through a clothes selling group on FB and someone mentioned a site called Plus For Less- so glad I looked because I really struggle finding things I like in my size, I just wanted some things for the summer so I don’t end up sweltering in jeans. Hope the pictures aren’t too big.Managed to get these 5 items (all pre-loved so no coupons, yay!) with postage for less than £30- bargain
Plus I have to announce how excited I am because we just got our mortgage offer through the post this morning!

Well done Spooney its lovely to top your wardrobe up. I managed to do the same after I started following this thread - unfortunately most of it is now sat in my wardrobe, but it feels great to have nice clothes I can actually wear. Fantastic news about the mortgage. We got news that our mortgage offer has been extended for 3 months yesterday - very relieved
as the new build we are buying is on hold due to Covid.

Spooney - yay to buying pre-owned, i buy everything I can that way with just a few sustainable and ethical purchases plus I am trying to make those British made items too.As I love my dungarees so much I purchased a denim pair, these are from a different brand but I got them pre-owned on ebay, another 6 coupons (for anyone new I count the coupons for secondhand to try and curb the amount I buy). I will be hunting down a couple of completely plain t shirts when we can get out again, I have lots of patterned skirts and trousers for summer but also lots of patterned or printed tops, I need a cream coloured one and a sage green one I think.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

How is everyone coping with the Lockdown? Week 4 is almost over for me. We go for half-hour walks most afternoons. I've blogged a few times, mainly recipes. (My poor blog has been neglected over the last couple of years, so it's good to reactivate it.) And I'm 4 inches into the body of my new jumper, just starting the third set of cables.
- Pip
ETA: Here's a photo of the swatch for my new project. It only shows the central cable of the jumper.

We mostly go out for our trot in the mornings, partly because if we leave it til lunchtime, then usually my chap has a conference call or some work problem so he hasn't time, and by after work he is knackered and really doesn't want to go (as opposed to jsut doesn't want to go if earlier
) .
I stopped smoking 6 or 7 years back but 26 years of 20+/day had left me fairly unfit. We've been systematically working on this, and for the last couple of weeks I've gone head-down straight up a couple of short uphills on one or other of our walking routes, making a note of how far up I become light-headed and dizzy and my breathing goes shallow (yep, cause and effect!) instead of regular... this morning for the first time I did both the Very Steep one without getting dizzy and keeping the regular breathing all the way up, and on the Bit Steep one I actually kept pace with my chap for the first time ever as well as keeping the breathing steady. Real progress!
I get days of inertia and days of bustling round... luckily we have home-made ready-meals in the freezer so we still eat well on days I can't be bothered to cook...
I've been hand-sewing DIY facemasks in order to put together a tutorial for friends who have never sewn... I hate wrestling with all the photos and captions, but at least it will help a few get something together. My own view is that they don't do much, and judging by the people I've seen in supermarkets wearing masks and gloves, the more PPE they wear the less caution they take re handling wallets and phones with gloved hands, handling the mask inside and out when adjusting it and scratching their face with gloved hands, etc... but I think the time is coming when we'll be expected to wear them so I may as well get on and make some...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
